Good idea, but the story is lacking in depth and details. It just could have been developed more.

This is the third book in the series and was just as great as the first two. This is the story of Derek West, a self made billionaire who comes from humble beginnings and Cassie Storm, the rich girl who rejected him as a teenager. I love second chance at love stories and this one was captivating from the start. Cassie will do what ever it takes to save the publishing company her grandfather created, even if that means going hat in hand to Derek and asking him for an exclusive interview. Derek is intrigued when he hears that Cassie wants to see him, after all she is the rich girl who rejected him years ago as he was just the son of her parents' gardener and maid. It is obvious from the first glance that the attraction that these two had for each other has not dimmed over the years and despite Derek's initial plans they move full steam ahead, not only with the interview but also on a personal level. Miscommunication, resentment and regret almost destroy their romance before it can get off the ground, but when shocking revelations about the past come to light, will it bring them together or push them apart? Will Derek take a chance on Cassie? Or will her family interfere? This book was extremely well written, the characters awesome and there were certainly some smoking hot scenes as the relationship developed. I loved the romance as Derek and Cassie explored their feelings and it was fabulous to catch up with the couples from the previous two books. From what I read in the epilogue, to say I am anxious for the next book is an understatement.

Good, but not great....just ok for me.

Sexy, hot, sweet and entertaining second chance romance complicated by family discord. Includes a shared past growing up together in two very different families. Derek West is a sweet, sexy and wicked smart alpha tech god. He grew up the son of the maid and gardener for the Storms and struggles with how they treated his parents. Cassie Storms is all grown up now and working for her grandfathers company trying her hardest to save it for the memory of the one family member that it seamed understood and accepted her. Loved this emotional and sweet romance.

I'm excited to bring you the next standalone in the Billionaire Bad Boys series by Carly Phillips. Once again she's brought us another alpha that we can't live without. So it's no surprise that I absolutely loved it! Carly is known for writing awesome romance and she's definitely done it again. This book was also sexy, so hot you'll need a fan, and passionate. But you'll also get a sweet determined guy that will finally go for what he's always wanted. Come along for the ride and you'll definitely have a good time. Cassie and Derek have a chance they didn't have before. Derek was poor and part of Cassie's rich family's staff. Now he's all grown up (in all the right ways) and filthy rich all on his own. Cassie needs him now and he plans on taking full advantage of the situation. Cassie is such a sweet honest person that I was not a fan of Derek's treatment towards her at first until things come to light. Of course nothing goes as Derek planned. The chemistry between these two is hot and undeniable. And when they overcome the drama and realize it, the fact that they're meant to be is unavoidable. As always the writing was superb. It was so easy to get sucked into the book in the very beginning and get wrapped up in Derek and Cassie's story. I devoured this book in just a matter of hours. The story flowed well and had a nice progression. You can feel the emotion these two have but it's not unrealistic. The trials these two have to overcome do a good job of testing the characters but also help them to come out stronger in the end. I highly recommend reading this book. Heck, you should read the whole series! 5 out of 5 stars!!

Love, Redemption, and Smexy who could ask for more?!! Carly Philips brings out the yum-hunkiness with her Hero, Derek in "Going Down Hard". He's the self-made billionaire tech-god who rose up from his gardener's son roots. Derek had a chip on his shoulder about rich people when he left for university. He worked hard to get into college and kept up that ethic during university. Then started a very successful tech company with his college friends. Cassie's the driven, smart, and independent heroine. A down to earth daughter of an elitist and wealthy family. It's because of her poor choice of snobby friends as a teen that Derek's opinion is clouded against the rich. It also cost her a potential relationship with him. Once the couple reunite and talk they have no doubts about their feelings for each other. "Going Down Hard" has a zippy pace and a sleek storyline. "Going Down Hard" is so much fun to read. It's so amusing that despite all of Derek's efforts he's planning one thing then his mouth says something completely different. He's thinking okay I'm going to just blow her off and his mouth is inviting her to dinner. He learns she needs to find an apartment and thinks wow that's a bummer sucker. Then hears himself say, "Hey, I have some properties do you want me to help you find a place?" Before he knows it they are dating, she's his girlfriend, and their in love. What the What??? The romance is delightful and the sex is smoking, spicy, smexy. The storyline is tight so it holds your interest which keeps the pace moving fast. This is another book in the win column for the Billionaire Bad Boys series! “How do you engage my entire body with a simple kiss?” “It’s us. This chemistry. It’s unique to us.” Going Down Hard grabbed me right from the very beginning. From the moment we meet Cassie and Derek, we can’t help but be pulled into their story. Derek came from a less than desirable background, but felt an undeniable connection with Cassie. Cassie was the rich girl who had the world at her feet. Derek knew they were total opposites, but you know the saying, the heart wants what the heart wants. So, when Derek finally makes his move, all it takes is a simple misunderstanding and destroy everything they both wanted. Now, years later, Derek and Cassie will be reunited. Cassie never forgot the man who captured her heart at such a young age. And Derek isn’t sure he can forget and forgive the past. Will these two be able to clear the air and find their happily ever after? There is only one way to find out…. Overall, I thought this was a really great read. I am a sucker for a great second chance romance and was pleased that Going Down Hard does not disappoint. It was fast paced and entertaining. For me, I found the story-line to be a lot of fun and I thought that it was well written. The characters were easy to connect with and they kept you wanting to come back for more. I loved the chemistry between Derek and Cassie. It was very palpable and hard to deny. I loved seeing these two together and really enjoyed seeing them try to navigate their way through their pasts and find their happy ending. Going Down Hard is a fantastic addition to the Billionaire Bad Boys Series. This is the perfect read to just spend the day getting lost in. Overall a very enjoyable read and I’m excited to see where this series is going to go next.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I really enjoyed this very sweet and romantic story by Carly Phillips. The star of this book is the last billionaire, Derek. Once upon a time his parents were the housekeeper and the gardener at Cassie's parents estate. At age 18 him and Cassie flirted but being the rich girl with snooty friends she said some mean things that he has never forgiven her for. Now both Cassie and Derek are all grown up and she works for her dad at the family company as a journalist for the techie magazine and she wants to interview Derek, which is how they meet again. Primarily this story is about Derek and Cassie learning to forgive and let the past go. To understand that love is what is important. Along the way Cassie has to deal with her brother who is not a good guy. But she also gets to know the adult Derek as he gets to know the adult Cassie. I really enjoyed this sweet romance and it had some really HOT scenes in the story. It easily stands alone, though we do get to see previous books couples in this book as well which I totally loved.

4.5 Stars This is book 3 in the Billionaire Bad Boys series and it features Derek West and Cassie Storms. Teenage peer pressure, family pressure, love, loyalty, family and puppy love (literally) make up this fantastic story. The attraction between these two was off the charts HOT! Cassie's family is intentionally and at the same time unintentionally scandalous! The only thing I was left wanting was…MORE! I can't wait for Kendall's story.

"Come on, princess. Live a little." - Derek West Going Down Hard is the 3rd book in the Billionaire Bad Boys series, and Derek is part of the trio of best friends who created a successful app-turned IPO, and he is now a billionaire. But, Derek comes from very humble beginnings. His mom was the maid, and his dad the gardener for a very wealthy family. He grew up in the guest house on their property. He was about the same age as their daughter Cassie, but of course they didn't run in the same circles. Also, he went to public school, and Cassie to private school. They crossed paths one night by the pool in the backyard, and he kissed her. He'd hoped for more, but something happened the next day to change his mind about her. Then they both left for college, and that was that. Flash forward a decade or so, and Cassie is the editor of an online tech magazine, owned by her family's multimedia company, which isn't doing that well. She has been trying to interview many CEOs, and other important people in the tech industry to give her magazine a higher profile. Derek notoriously doesn't do interviews, but she's hoping she can get him to make an exception for her. He agrees, to see her and, of course, sparks fly again, as they had in the past. But, she's still surprised when he agrees to let her write her story. Even when it means shadowing him for a while. But no one is more surprised than Derek himself! This was a bit of a second chance romance, since they knew each other before, though they were never really together in the past. I really liked their banter, and their chemistry felt really organic because of it. There were many misunderstandings between them from the past, but they moved through them like adults, after having an open communication. Imagine that! I really enjoyed that about them. They reacted to things like adults, and didn't jump to conclusions. There's nothing I hate more in a book than to feel that the entirety of the story's conflict could have been avoided with one simple conversation. There was none of that here. I liked seeing the characters from the prior stories in the series. Also, I really enjoyed some of the side characters in this story, especially Derek's mother. Meanwhile, Cassie's father and brother were wretched, and I wanted to reach through the book and punch them in the mouth every time they said something horrible, or thoughtless, to her. They were well written antagonists, and you could really feel their entitlement and their disdain for others. I hated them with a passion. I really enjoy Carly's writing, and her couples fit well together. There's great chemistry, and she really makes you feel what they are feeling. The pace felt good, and I loved the easy banter and dialogue between both the 2 main characters, and between Derek and his friends/partners. You can really feel how much the guys love and care about each other. It's nice to see truly close male friendships in books, and not just female ones! I would definitely recommend this book, and I'm very intrigued by the premise for book 4, Going In Deep. It will be quite the task to redeem Julian's character, as he was the villain of book 1! Looking forward to it! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A super sexy continuation in the Billionaire Bad Boys series! Past mistakes are forgiven, new connections are forged, and lots of secrets are uncovered as Carly Phillips brings us Derek West’s story! All three of these bad boys have been genuinely good guys when all is said and done … I have really enjoyed them all! It’s raw, it’s sexy and it’s captivating! Derek West grew up as the groundskeeper and maid’s son. He watched those around him have it easier than him and have better things, but it just drove him to rise above it all. His technical magic led to an app that made he and his college pals the billionaire’s they are today … but he has never forgotten where he came from … or the injustice done to his family in the end! Cassandra Storms was the spoiled rich girl living in the main house. She had the world handed to her on a platter, and played the rich princess game all too well. The attraction between them as teens was shot down before it could even begin, but the second they lay eyes on each other again, it rears it’s ugly head! The tables are turned a bit now and it’s Cassie coming to Derek needing a favor … and he decides he’s all too happy to welcome her into his bed for the ride of her life … then he’ll send her on her merry way. As secrets from the past are unraveled and he learns she’s not who he expected, will the time they spend together actually build a connection that he won’t be able to walk away from?

This is book #3, in the Billionaire Bad Boys series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading this series in order. Derek and Cassie have a kind of awkward history. While their families can be a touchy subject, they are getting to know one another again. Derek is ll grown up and hot enough to set Cassie aflame. Cassie has enough problems on her plate by her own family right now. Derek is just an added element that may or may not ruin her plans. Now if they can compromise, there just might be a future ahead. I know I always love books by this author, she is on my go to purchase list. This story however, I was just not feeling it. The banter almost felt forced. The chemistry is obvious but there was so much that distracted.... I don't know. This is just my humble opinion. ***This copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

Cassie Storm comes from a life of wealth and privileged, a life that definitely comes with it's disadvantages, and steep list of expectations to live up to. And up and until now she has never had a problem going along with the flow and doing exactly what is expected of her, with the hope of it someday it paying off with a rewarding position in the family business. But her little hope is dashed when her father gives her brother the promotion that should have rightfully been hers, and then if things couldn't get any worse her brother kicks her out of her home too. But with all this going on in her life there is one bright spot... Derek West coming back into her life. He has history with her father, but that doesn't stop her from going after what she wants... now she just has to find a way to keep her family at bay, and finally get something she wants for once in her life! Derek West has often thought of Cassie through the years, wondered what she has done with her life, and if she is just as beautiful as she use to be...so when she contacts him for a interview for her magazine he jumps at the chance to see her again. The minute she walks through his office door he is taken with her all over again, she is even more beautiful than he could have imagined, and she wants to spend time with him for her interview. How can he say no to that? Once again Ms. Phillips has found a way to dazzle me with her exceptional literary talents, and given me a story line that I was able to fall right into and get completely wrapped up in, this is by far one of my favorites from her to date! From the instant these two appeared on the page you could feel the chemistry simmering between them, and even though they came from completely different worlds they found a way to meet on common ground and discover a happily ever after they both longed for. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with these two, their story made me smile, had me blushing a time or two, and tugged at my heart strings... and in my book it doesn't get much better than that!! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

This book was a fantastic addition to the Billionaire Bad Boys series. I loved the direction Carly took in this book. Derek is a bit of a hard @$$ in the beginning, but he came through and put his issues behind him for the most part. Cassie was an awesome heroine. She's strong, knows what she wants, and when someone tells her she can't have it? She keeps her head held high, and proves to be the better person in so many ways. There were twists in this book I definitely didn't see coming, and was glad to see karma come to a few in the most unexpected ways. This is definitely a must read, and I can't WAIT to get the next book in the series!!

Wow do I love this series!!! The stories keep getting better and better! Derek and Cassie knew each other growing up...he was the housekeepers kid, she the rich daughter of the family his parents worked for. While they connected one night at the pool, the two went their separate ways during college, not seeing each other again until Derek was a successful tech guy and Cassie was the Editor of a tech magazine in her family's company. Cassie wants to interview Derek and shadow him for an article, but Derek is reluctant to give her full access, not only to his life but to his heart. But once they start spending time together it's easy to see that they need to be together! Go out and grab this book today. You won't be disappointed!

Going Down Hard is the third book in Carly Phillips newest series, the Billionaire Bad Boys. Derek West was the gardener and maid’s son growing up. His family lived in a cottage on the estate of the Storms family where his parents work. Cassie Storms was intrigued by Derek but allowed peer pressure to make her a rich snob toward him. Years later the two meet again when Cassie decides to interview Derek for the tech magazine she is in charge of for her family’s media empire. Cassie has once again suffered from her father’s patriarchy view, being passed over for director of the company, after years of working there, when her undeserving brother receives the position. As Cassie and Derek spend time together they discover the changes each other made, their attraction for each other, and the chemistry they share. I enjoyed the camaraderie Derek shares with his business partners and how well they included and accepted Cassie when Derek brought her into their inner circle. Ms. Phillips did an excellent job describing the sexual tension and love scenes between these two. Reading about Derek’s rise from poverty to become the billionaire he now is was enjoyable, especially knowing he was still the kind, loving son and brother he was beforehand. This book is definitely hot and sexy with loveable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written, authentic and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is the 3rd book in the Billionaire Bad Boys series and it is Derek West's story. Derek grew up living in the guesthouse of the Storms' family home where his father was their groundskeeper and his mother was their maid. Derek always had a crush on their daughter, Cassie but never acted on it thinking she was too above his class level. One evening while drinking a beer, just before Derek left for college, he got up the courage to go and talk to Cassie who was sitting outside by their pool in the dark. Offering her a sip of his beer, they began bonding and even shared a kissed and plans were made to meet the next night. The next day Derek overheard Cassie's rude, obnoxious friends making comments about his mom and when they noticed him they continued spewing rude comments about him. Even though Derek really liked Cassie, he wanted nothing to do with her and her friends ever again. Fast forward years later and Derek is a billionaire and part owner of a tech business. Imagine his surprise when Cassie Storms wants to meet with him. He knows she is working at her family's media company and figures she wants to interview him. Too bad he has no interest in helping her with that task! He just doesn't do interviews because he doesn't want his past revealed. Imagine his surprise when Cassie shows up and actually apologizes for her behavior all those years ago....oh, and she does want an interview! Now, Derek has decided he wants to seduce Cassie and get her in his bed, but he is still not going to do an interview, but she can try and change his mind by going out to dinner with him. Of course, sparks fly and he agrees to the interview when he hears the full story. I just loved the time they spent together really getting to know each other. They both realized there was a lot about the other that they really didn't know. Things moved pretty quickly between these two and I just LOVED the way Kaden and Lucas teased Derek! Of course, events from their past came back to haunt them and they had to find a way to deal with it. It was a great twist on the "real story" of the past. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Both of these characters were great and they both had issues from their past to deal with. I really enjoyed their happy ending too!

**Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review** Ok, so this is the first one in the series I read. Yes, totally back-asswards, but if anything it proves Going Down Hard is a stand alone read. I refuse to bore you with another synopsis of the book that you can read at the top of this page provided by GR's (let's all admit that's boring as hell) Clearly I loved it, just in case the 5 stars above left you still wondering lol Just like all the other books of Carly's I've read, the characters are well developed, the details are enough that you're not left confused but not too much where you'd rather have a root canal then read one more sentence about scenery. I'm enthralled with the characters and as soon as I'm done with this review I'm going to download the first book in this series, seriously. If you have read one of Carly's books before, you know what you're in for. Hint, it's awesome, don't question it, just read it.

: GOING DOWN HARD is the third installment in Carly Phillips’s contemporary, adult BILLIONAIRE BAD BOYS erotic, romance series focusing on a trio of close knit friends-Derek West, Kaden Barnes and Lucas Monroe, and former business partner Julian Dane-a spin off from her DARE TO LOVE SERIES. This is billionaire businessman Derek West, and Storms Consolidated heiress Cassie Storms’s story line. GOING DOWN HARD can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Cassie and Derek) GOING DOWN HARD focuses on the rekindling relationship between billionaire Derek West, and multi-media heiress Cassie Storms. As a teen, Derek grew up on the Storm Estate-the son of the family gardener and maid, and his attraction to Cassie was destroyed when days before Cassie headed to college our heroine sided with her friends making disparaging remarks about Derek and his family. Fast forward approximately twelve years wherein Derek is now co-owner of a billionaire dollar computer firm, and Cassie is working for the competition-her father’s business-a business Derek is hoping to destroy. What ensues is a second chance romance between Derek and Cassie, and the revelation about a theft and accusation made to protect the Storm family name. Cassie was never the spoiled, little rich girl, and her attraction to Derek meant going against her father’s wishes. Along the way, our heroine worked diligently to keep the family business afloat only to be blindsided when her father handed down leadership to his prodigal son. Derek West needed to prove he was worthy of love and respect; successful businessman, a billionaire, and a son who is determined to protect his mother’s reputation, and make someone pay for the death of his father. Meeting Cassie flew all good sense out of the window, and found Derek falling for the woman who once destroyed his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic. All of the previous story line couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles including Kaden and Lexie (Going Down Easy) #1) Lucas and Maxie (Going Down Fast #2), as well as former business partner Julian Dane, and Lexi’s sister Kendall Parker. There is some heartbreaking history between Julian and Lexi-there story will be told in GOING IN DEEP. We are also introduced to Derek’s mother Marie, as well as Cassie’s brother Spencer, her father Christopher and her long suffering mother Daniella Storms GOING DOWN HARD is a quick read; a story of secrets, betrayal, and regret. The premise is engaging and spicy; the romance is passionate and energetic; the characters are genuine and inspiring. GOING DOWN HARD is wonderful second chance story for two people destroyed by sins of the past.

Going Down Hard was an amazing and sexy read! Carly Phillips did not disappoint when she gave us Cassie and Derek's story! Going Down Hard has you falling for our Derek the minute you start reading about when he was younger and falling for Cassie. I wanted to reach out to Cassie and give her a swift kick in the booty for pissing off Derek. But enough of that! I can go on and on with the story and then ruin it for you all. You need to read this book! If you have read any of Carly's previous books in this series, you know this is that GOOD! This book had me swooning and falling in love with love. Yes you read that right. You learn to accept that the heart wants what it wants. That is what I felt that this story surrounded around. You can never judge a person by their cover, you never know what is really happening on the inside. There was so much drama and betrayal in this story my head was spinning in disbelief. This story will capture you and never let you go. I will re-read this book over and over in the very near future. I definitely would want to work for Blink with all those sexy hot men! Seriously! I do not want to forget to mention how much I loved Oscar too!!!! See what I am talking about and get a copy of Going Down Hard.. You will fall Hard for Derek and Cassie's story.

Derek West is a self made man after growing up as the gardener/maid son. Cassie Storms was born to the life of privilege but she is not the uptight woman he thought she was from their past. When she walks into his office with a proposition to write a series of articles on him, all he wanted was revenge for the past. Things quickly change these two are so spectacularly in tune with each other it was a pleasure to watch them find their way and grow. Oh and to figure out the past. Even though this is #3 in the series it could be read as a standalone but why would you want to!?! I highly recommend this one and all the others in the series. You want to know the Billionaire Bad Boys! **Received an ARC copy for review**

Another 5 star installment of the Billionaire Bad Boys series. Carly Phillips sure knows how to write a sexy read backed by a great story. This one is about Derek West and Cassie Storms. He is the son of a maid and a gardener, Cassie’s maid and gardener to be exact. One kiss and then some hurtful words he hears her speak to her friends put a halt on anything happening between them years ago when they were 18. Now after going to college and meeting some like minded friends there, years later he is a self made billionaire and a co-founder of the very popular app, Blink. Cassie runs a tech magazine owned by her father’s company. She comes back into Derek’s life when she contacts him to see if she can do a story on him and his rise to the top. He says yes because he actually plans on telling her no to her face. He has not forgiven her for the things she said or other things that went down for his parents at her family’s home. He can’t do it though because seeing her again brings back all the feelings he had for her when they were younger and they are even stronger now. She is also not who he thought she was and forgives her and then begins to fall for her pretty quickly. I love second chance romances, and I feel like this definitely fits that even though they didn’t actually have a romance before. They have to navigate some pretty tough truths before they can live happily ever after together but they do it because they love and trust in each other and are able to work through everything else. The storyline is awesome as it always is, the characters were very well developed, and as always the steamy scenes were sizzling hot, hot, hot!!! I am looking forward to Julian and Kendall’s book next. I am assuming he will fully redeem himself.

So, I’ve been reading Carly Phillips since Serendipity in paperback. Loved through the Chandlers, the Perfect’s, the Dares...I can go on and on. Billionaire Bad Boy Derek West just falls right in line!!!! Derek and Cassie rock! Everyone has a past and most people have a “WHY did I do that?” moment. For Cassie Storms, it was all about Derek, the guy from the other side of the garden! She grew up, made something of herself in spite of her family and found a second chance! Derek wanted payback. Maybe not anything too extreme but he could do with some emotional toying around with the princess...Let her see what she missed.. What starts as a possible business relationship in spite of their history turns personal pretty quick. I love the fact that neither one of them resorts to emotional immaturity. They are two adults who start a relationship, deal with the drama and determine to get past it. Daddy and Mommy Dearest aren’t beyond redemption. No monsters under the bed. Just a good, honest and sometimes steamy storyline that makes cold winter days a little easier to get through. I love reading series, especially from authors who I know are going to do justice to their earlier books. Carly never fails to keep the continual flow from book to book and make us all highlight the release date on our Outlook calendars for the next story....May 9 in case you wondered...

This is the third book in Carlys Billionaire series and I swear each one just gets better. This book is full of romance, hot sex and romance. Derek and Cassie knew each other growing up as Dereks parents worked for Cassies, so their was always a huge socioeconomic divide between them, until Derek becomes a billionaire in his own right. I loved how Derek came around about holding a grudge against Cassies family. Like I said I love this series and can't wait for Julian and Kendalls book. I received an arc of this book from author in exchange for voluntarily reviewing. Definite must read!
