About the Author

Dr. A.K. Singh (B. 1965), M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Soil Science, is presently the Program Coordinator (KVK), ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region.Earlier, he was Associate Professor (Agriculture), North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management (North Eastern Council) where he taught land, water and crop management for eight years. His field of specialisation is in soil fertility, plant nutrition, and soil & water quality. He has completed various sponsored research projects on integrated nutrient management, recycling of organic and industrial wastes, water quality, reclamation of acid soils, eco-restoration in mined out areas, soil survey,etc. He has written books on Conversion to organic agriculture, Productiontechnology on bio-organic farm inputs, Environmental soil science, Agricultural terminology, and a number of research papers in international and national journals of repute. He is member of International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture, Indian Society of Soil Science, LEISA India, Spice India, and Associate Trustee of Indian Organic Certification Agency (INDOCERT).
