Overview

Part I reveals that God is not a remote and austere religious figure and by living within His parameters (design) through His covenant, we can have a successful, intimate, vital, living relationship with Him. We are created in the image and likeness of God and that influences our responsibility to our Creator. God's love, forgiveness, fruit of the Spirit, and His covenant as seen in the armor of God leads us to see our identity in Christ. Part II explains the successful practical applications of these parameters in a person's daily life, including how stress, anxiety, unforgiveness, temptations, and our choice of foods affect our mind, will, emotions, and physical body. The book outlines practical solutions so we can live in optimal health in spirit, soul, and body. At the end of each chapter are key questions for discussion. Counselors and small group settings would benefit from this format.

About the Author

Dr. Gary Pyles graduated from Cornerstone University (BRE) with a major in Bible. He earned his MA and PhD in Christian counseling from Newburg Theological Seminary. He has traveled domestically and internationally on ministry trips. In the past, he taught college courses in biblical interpretation, the Pauline epistles, and pastoral care. His church involvement includes teaching holistic health classes, new Christian classes, and giving instructions in the altar worker ministry. Currently he is the director of Skyway Church’s Christian Lay Counseling ministry. Dr. Gary is a certified life coach, a nutritionist, and a pastor. He is a speaker at seminars and conferences. In private practice, he counsels clients in nutrition and living a holistic and healthy lifestyle.
Gary is married to his wonderful wife, Bonnie. They have five grown children and four grandkids. They have made their home for the past forty-plus years in Phoenix, Arizona. They are currently attending Skyway Church of the West Valley, located in Goodyear, Arizona.
