Grand Pop, a memoir by Keefe Taylor as told to Rand Bishop
In this mock-memoir, Keefe Taylor, charismatic frontman for the legendary, multi-platinum hard-rock band, King Pest, has survived alcoholism, drug addiction, tabloid-covered arrests, a publicly humiliating divorce, near financial ruin, and recovery. Now, the veteran rock superstar shares what HE considers to be the most-traumatic period of his life: the year in which he turns 50 and becomes a grandfather. A clever skewing of the trendy, celebrity-memoir genre, this laugh-out-loud funny, and oft-times poignant novel examines the subjects of aging in a youth-obsessed culture, fame, addiction, sobriety, depression, and the insatiable, unscrupulous media. Will a spoiled, infantile rocker stumble his way to personal redemption? Can Keefe Taylor rediscover love, friendship, and family? The compelling pages of Grand Pop reveal all.

About the Author

Rand Bishop Rand Bishop began his career as a recording artist for a series of major labels. More than 40 years hence, as a Grammy-nominated, BMI Award-winning, Million-play songwriter, Bishop now counts close to 250 diverse credits: from the Beach Boys to Toby Keith, Heart to Indigo Girls. Along the way, he toured extensively as a rock ’n‘ roller, sang on countless sessions as a studio vocalist, produced hundreds of records and film soundtracks, and spent years behind desks as a talent development executive and music publisher. If those accomplishments weren’t more than enough, Bishop is an award-winning screenwriter, produced playwright, songwriting coach, and author. At the end of the day, he refers to himself simply as “a writer.”
