I was born in Bloomington, Minnesota and raised in Bozeman, Montana. I have lived in three different countries, and have moved more than 13 times with my wife and five children. Chapter One

It was a week before Christmas before my blunder occurred, I was shopping for things to make my traditional mix they preferred. My snack mix is a tradition from long, long ago, And I am always the one who ends up making it so.

I drove to the store to buy the ingredients needed But was sidetracked with buying presents so no one felt cheated! Yes, present shopping is something I just can't resist, And my old granny mind forgot that darn mix.

The week flew by quicker than you could ever believe Until the grand day arrived to fly overseas. So with presents in hand and snack mix not gotten, I boarded the plane so I wouldn't be forgotten!

When I finally arrived on that Christmas Eve day, I kissed everyone hello, and they yelled, "Hip, hip, hooray!"

Exhausted and sleepy, I went up to bed. I started unpacking when the thought hit my head. Snack mix!

My granny mind stopped, and my eyes opened wide! I started looking real hard for a good place to hide! I never bought the snack mix ingredients needed, Now all are in bed and they're going to feel cheated!

It's Christmas Eve night, and I've really messed up. So I quickly ran out to get that darn stuff. Each store that I went to had nothing I needed. I began to feel frustrated, tired, and defeated.

I dragged myself back to my son-in-law's place, Knowing I let them all down that fine Christmas Day. I sadly opened the door and stopped dead in my tracks To the sound of a man that had snuck in with a sack!

Now I'm an old granny. I'm tough, and I'm lean. I grabbed the bat by the door, feeling really quite mean! I thought to myself, If I can't make that darn mix, I'll save Christmas Day and whack this thief with a stick!
