Grind (verb): to weaken or destroy gradually

Macy Carrington is not the woman I once thought her to be.

What she does not allow her heart to feel, she gives with her body. The sex between us is explosive and depraved. I've done things with her that would never have crossed my wildest imagination, and I can't ever seem to get enough.

But now I want more from her. I want to figure out her dark secret, expose it and then help her to heal from it. I know, without a doubt, that Macy is capable of love, and I will grind her down until I make her accept the truth of it.

Grind (verb): to wear down, polish, or sharpen by friction

Cal Carson is not the man I once thought him to be.

Strong, determined, sexy as hell and a beast in the bedroom. He is every woman's fantasy.

He is my fantasy.

But no matter how hard Cal tries to grind me down, my heart and secrets are mine and mine alone.

**Cal and Macy's story is a trilogy within the Legal Affairs series. All three books--Clash, Grind and Yield--must be read in order. You do not have to read the other Legal Affairs books to understand this trilogy.

About the Author

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.

The storyline is good but this book & the 1st could've been written together in 1 book and still never made it to 300 pages. Disappointed that authors write 130 pages and charge 3.99

Grind is the continuation of Cal and Macy's story. It picks up right where Clash ends. Cal, as a favor to  Mac, he represents Macy in a Alienation of Affection lawsuit, once that is completed, they pick up sex-only relationship. But as things progress, Cal tries to "nudge" Macy into a more normal relationship. When they make a deal with each other, BOTH are pushed out of their comfort zones. Throw in Macy's apparently very dysfunctional family, and things could go south very quickly. Like Clash, Grind is written almost entirely from Cal's point of view. It's interesting that the only glimpses we get into what Macy thinks or feels are the little peeks into her diary. Of course, you also have what Cal observes as he tries to figure out what makes her tick.  Being that this is the second book of three, I'm thrilled the last one is just a couple of weeks away, because this will certainly leave you hanging.

GRIND.... I loved this book. It was HOT. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end, but it was a fantastic read. I was not sure of this at the beginning, but I really enjoyed the relationship between Macy and Cal. She is a lost sole and has not had much love in her life, she has no realign ship with her family. Cal knows nothing but love from his family but still feels a piece of him is missing due to the events that happened to ruin his friendship with Matt. He struggles with the fact that he lost his best friend and seeing how much the friendship between Macy and Mac means to Macy it continues to be an issue for Cal. In this book, Macy needs help getting out of a bind she has found herself in and Cal has taken this case on. There is a high level of lust between them and for ethical reason, Cal tells Macy that can't sleep together while he is representing her. While he helps her, he realizes there is so much more to Macy and he wants to know all her secrets. What happens after the case is over. The attraction in intense. They are into the same kinds of kink.... What are they willing to do or be a part of for the other. Wow. Wow. Just WOW. Will Macy trust in a relationship with Cal, will Cal be able to wait for Macy to figure things out? Will her past get in the way of their future? So much more to come in book 3. I really early enjoyed this book.

Although Cal is totally sexy, with a rockin' body, he knows what he wants in bed and out of it, but he's just not as "alpha" as I expect him to be. He needs to be a little bit...more. His relationship with Macy is sex only and he wants more. He wants a monogamous dating relationship. Being monogamous is pushing it for Macy. Her life is full of one night stands only. She can do monogamous but she doesn't date. Her issues make her think she doesn't deserve or isn't worthy of that kind of relationship but the closer she gets with Cal, the more she wants to give it a try. Awesome cliffhanger ending! I'm waiting on pins and needles to find out exactly what is in Macy's past that has affected her entire life so harshly. Can't wait for book three! * free copy gifted for an honest review ** originally reviewed for welovekink(dot)com

In this second installment of Cal and Macy's story, Sawyer Bennett certainly turned up the heat factor and it was hot, hot, HOT! With Cal now representing Macy in the case that has been brought against her, he knows that while their chemistry is off the charts and the sex the best he's ever had, he can't overlook that it's unethical for him to represent her and sleep with her at the same time. So, he proposes that they put a moratorium on sleeping together until the case is resolved. Macy agrees and Cal goes into overdrive trying to get the case solved. Once they've gotten past the legal matter, they continue seeing one another, albeit secretly, and Cal knows he's getting in too deep because this is a woman he could come to have serious feelings for. He can't seem to bring himself to let her go though either. In the meantime, Macy is beginning to trust and let her walls down around Cal. Can she let him all the way in? Or will something be put in the path of this budding relationship before it really gets off the ground? And, will Cal still want to be in Macy's life when he finds out what really happened in her past? Sawyer Bennett has crafted a hot, sexy, edgy story that keeps you on your toes throughout. To say I'm ready for the third installment is an understatement...I wish it were out now! I highly recommend this series!

Provocative and passionate: GRIND is the second installment in Sawyer Bennett’s adult, contemporary A Legal Affairs Story erotic romance storyline. GRIND is part 2 and the continuation of Cal Carson and Macy Carrington’s storyline. GRIND is part two of a three part series and therefore, the installments must be read in order NOTE: There are graphic depictions of bondage, M/M, F/F, M/F/M/F sexual situations. Told from Cal’s first person point of view with excerpts from Macy’s diary entries, GRIND follows two paths: Cal’s defense of Macy in a legal case that finds Macy at the receiving end of a nuisance law suit in the hopes of money: and the building relationship between Cal and Macy. Macy doesn’t do relationships; doesn’t do love; and definitely doesn’t do family. As the storyline unfolds, Macy’s walls begin to shatter but not before Cal’s eyes are opened to the depths of Macy’s heartbreak and pain. Once again, the secondary and supporting players include MacKayla and Matt Connover, Cal’s ex girlfriend, and a quick glimpse into the Carrington family dynamics. GRIND is a sexually erotic storyline that follows Macy’s need for sex. Macy uses sex as a weapon; as a tool; but most of all as a way to punish herself for the sins of the past. Macy’s demons run very close to the surface and we get a quick glimpse into the what and the who, may have been the precipitating factor behind Macy’s destructive path. This installment ends on a cliff hanger-so be forewarned. Sawyer Bennett does an amazing job keeping the reader in suspense about Macy’s past and what’s in store for the future. GRIND is a provocative, passionate and dramatic installment -an exhilarating storyline from Sawyer Bennett.

And here we go again....Oh Sawyer, what are you doing to us? Grind starts right where Clash left us, Cal is helping Macy with the lawsuit she was served with and they go to Utah to confront the people that are suing her. Cal doesn't want to mix business with pleasure so he wants to close the case before he finds himself in bed with Macy again doing what they do best. Little by little we start seeing how close these two are getting and how Macy's walls start slowly crumbling down thanks to the support and strong presence that Cal is providing. Things start moving from an all sexual vibe to emotional territory, something that even though she doesn't say out loud, Macy needs desperately. We see more of Macy's life through her diary entries and some of them are heartbreaking to read. It's incredible how someone who has been through some of the stuff she describes and the hints she gives can remain strong (at least on the outside.) Cal is, well, sex on a stick. He's self assured, dominant in the bedroom and the courtroom, and caring, all in one delicious package. He knows he's walking on eggshells with Macy but he keeps going forward and showing her that one way or another he's there for the long run. I was very pleased, turned on, and thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the swingers club. I loved how boundaries were pushed and how they were able to come to terms with their differences afterwards. Sawyer leave us with another cliffy, but again it's only two weeks until the next one so not too long to wait for the reveal of all of Macy's secrets. Just two short weeks to see if the relationship between Macy and Cal is going to survive her secrets, insecurities, and fulfill her life with all the love she's been missing all these years. Sawyer has the ability to take her readers to a deeper dimension and make them feel her characters all the way to their souls, Macy is a prime example of this. Her writing style is flawless, she's one of those authors that thinks outside the box and never disappoints. Macy and Cal are my guilty pleasure, my obsession, and hands down the best series I've read this year.

Holy kinky hotness!! I am so enjoying reading Macy and Cal's story and it is a wild kinky ride they are taking us on. Really getting to know Macy and her past is difficult and would probably explain a lot about her but is Cal willing to go to those lengths?? This is the second installment in the series and has a definite cliffhanger. Luckily we will get the conclusion to Macy & Cal's story soon. I highly recommend this one!

While Macy and Cal start a relationship of sorts, she wants to keep them a secret. Doesn't want Mac to find out just yet. After all Macy doesn't do relationships but there is something about Cal that she is drawn too. When she is being sues and the have to fly to Utah to meet with the sleaze and her lawyer, Cal tells her that as soon as this lawsuit is over, she will be his until it is time for the to get to the airport to fly back home. Macy is enjoying the time they spend together and when they come to an agreement, will Macy hold up her end or will she run? Can Cal go to the club and do what she wants him to do? Will he make her see that she is special? Can he keep his heart from being broken in the process? And what an ending, the FBI has showed up to take her in for questions about her fathers company? Can Cal save her now? Will Mac and Matt be there to help her too? This is a great story and I can't wait for more. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**

When things start to go Cal's way with Macy....the walls are starting to come down, she gets another friend and she says she is monogamous in a relationship and doesn't want another man....but we all know that sometimes the darkness has to appear before the rainbow can shine....if there is a rainbow at the end of this story.... When Macy seems to find her self in a legal predicament Mac calls the marker card and Cal represents Macy in her legal issue but since she is now a client the "No Sex with a Client" rule comes into effect but when the case is over it is no hold's bar ! This is a win win for both of them. Cal thinks that he is finally getting to Macy but during an incident with Camille he says...God..No...he isn't in love with her it is just sex or is it ?? Does Cal really just want a just sex relationship with Macy or does he see himself with her for the long hall of a relationship since now she says they are in a relationship or will a devastating situation arise  in Macy's world that will have those walls go back but and Cal see the old Macy come back ?? Can he get her back or is she to far gone in the matter of a few minutes ?? Keep it coming Sawyer it gets better and better each time and I am now hanging by a thread to see what is the outcome ?? LOVE IT !!
