Overview

While I would never really kill myself, I have come close a number of times in my life. These poems were all written in the first five years of my incarceration, before I cam to Christ, with the exception of “I’m Alone”, which was written when my fiancée left me.

About the Author

My name is David and I was born in Oklahoma in 1983 and moved to Washington when my parents divorced. By age 11 I was going to jail and at 19 was arrested for murder. I’ve been in prison ever since.

Poetry is just a release for me. I pour out my emotions on paper instead of trying to saw through my wrists with a paper clip. So I refuse counseling, so pen and paper are my therapy.
