This book intends to accomplish for students of Christian theology what Steve Allen once tried to do for television viewers. In the 1970s there first aired his successful PBS-TV series called "Meeting of the Minds." It originated with the following perception of Allen, the creative genius behind it: "I see the literary and philosophical tradition of our culture not so much as a storehouse of facts and ideas but rather as a hopefully endless Great Debate at which one may be not only a privileged listener but even a modest participant" (2). Allen wanted to find "a method of imparting education without inducing boredom" (3). That's the goal here exactly-theological education without boredom!
