The Program: an organization of elite soldiers with superior strength, agility, and intellect. These men put their lives on the line to execute the government's most dangerous missions.

Journalist Loren Stanton wants nothing more than to break a big story that will catapult her career. But the only item that's caught her eye lately is Adam Blacker, a soldier whose rugged sexiness sets her pulse racing. When rumors surface that he's part of a classified government program, Loren has every excuse she needs to get as close to him as possible, no matter what it takes.

As team leader of a covert ops group, Adam steers clear of all journalists, but there's no denying the blazing passion Loren stirs in him. A scorching night together convinces him their connection is more than skin-deep, still, he's not ready to let down his guard-his genetic enhancements make him an exceptional soldier, but what woman would want to commit to his high-risk life?

When a dangerous enemy from Adam's past resurfaces and Loren insists on joining the fight rather than running, he's forced to face a dark truth. This courageous, loyal woman moves him in ways he never imagined possible. And now that Adam knows she has his back, he also knows he has to win her heart.

I've put off reviewing this story because I just didn't know how to explain what the book was about - it's so unusual. Adam and Loren met at a party he was forced to attend and as a journalist she was sent to cover. They didn't know that life would never be the same for either of them now that they've met. Loren was Adam's genetic match so they were strongly attracted to each other and couldn't think of anything else. This scared Laren so she left early. When the guest of honor (a one year old child) is kidnapped, Loren's boss is annoyed that she wasn't there to cover the story. Adam is part of a secret government program of genetically enhanced soldiers. They are faster, stronger and have accelerated healing abilities. He's the leader of a covert ops group sent to protect the baby at the party. After meeting Loren he couldn't focus on anything else so missed the baby being kidnapped. The problem is once a soldier of the ‘Program’ meets his genetic match, the pull is so strong that nothing can stop their desire, and he can't focus on anything else so his attention to his mission suffers. The good part (or maybe it's another problem) is once they submit to this overwhelming pull, the couple will never want anyone else and constantly 'want' each other. They actually can't control their desire for each other. This sci-fi story was full of action and sex. A lot of sex. It seemed to me that most of the book was made up of sex scenes between the main couple. Since they absolutely couldn't keep their hands off each other, I guess that's to be expected. I enjoyed the plot of searching for the baby. It did have me laughing out loud a couple of times during the first chapter but then the action kept me from chuckling. It had a good ending but there were lots of things that didn't have closure so it leads into other books.

Title: Heated Match - Coded For Love Book 1 Author: Lynne Silver Published: 4-16-2016 Publisher: Be The Page Publishing Pages: 249 Genre: Romance Sub Genre: Military, Contemporary ISBN: 9781490845698 ASIN: B01DTKE9Y Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley My Rating: 4 1/2 Stars . . Description The Program: an organization of elite soldiers with superior strength, agility, and intellect. These men put their lives on the line to execute the government’s most dangerous missions. Loren Stanton, a journalist, is in search of a big story to shoot her to the top, her problem is the only thing drawing her interest is ruggedly handsome soldier Adam Blacker. When Loren hears rumors of Adam belonging to a secret elite soldier program she finally has her story and a reason to pursue he intense attraction to Adam. Adam as leader of his covert ops group knows he needs to stay away from Loren. Thinking one night will be enough he lets himself indulge, only to find she has gotten under his skin. The a danger from his past resurfaces Loren insist on putting herself in danger by helping him. Adam knows Loren is for him, but can he keep them alive long enough to have a future together. To start off I have to agree with Erica C.'s review that it is similar to Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker Series, but since I love that series and devour each book as it hits the bookstores I was looking forward to reading Heated Match. After reading I agree to similarities, but each stands as unique in their own rights. The characters both main and minor supporting characters are well done and I look forward to reading many of their stories. The plot is well done and thought out. You will be drawn into the story from the start. It is fast paced for a first novel of a series considering that it has to not only set up the characters and focus of the series. So much about this book will appeal to a reader. If you enjoy suspense romance or military themed romances then this is a definite must read to look into. My rating is 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. 'Heated Match' by Lynne Silver is the first book in the "Coded for Love" series. This is the story of Loren Stanton and Adam Blacker. Adam was and is part of a government program of genetically enhanced soldiers. The program had been a secret but now their cover has been blown. Adam is now the leader of a covert ops group that was set to protect a baby from being kidnapped at a party. There Adam met Loren who pretty much took his breath-away and he was quickly attracted to her. Adam was able to get her to dance with him but she suddenly left him mid-dance. A short time later things start to go bad as the baby is kidnapped. Adam admits that he was distracted by Loren but they agree she wasn't part of the kidnapping. It seems her unknown to her brother named Chase, is part of the government program and he speaks up for her along with Adam agreeing that she wasn't part of it. Loren is a journalist and her she was assigned to the party to report on the food, entertainment etc. side of things. But Loren after meeting Adam is very attracted to him and this upsets her. Loren leaves before the kidnapping happens and the next day her boss is upset that she left and didn't get the story. Loren talks her boss into letter her help work on the story which leads her to go to the government site where Adam, Chase and the other are. There she tries to take pictures and talk her way into the building to get a interview. Loren knows that is more to what is going on with Adam and this story. Now Loren and Adam are face to face again. The attraction is just as strong if not stronger. Adam is being pressured to meet the request of fathering a child by his father/officials. But Adam doesn't want that due to how much it had hurt his mother. Will they have a choice in how their relationship develops? Can they fight their feels? Excellent piece of work. Good length with a with a really good storyline. Enough characters ot keep you interested, but not so many that you're wondering, "now which one was that again?" Sex scenes are hot and make for a delightful adult/mature romance. Easy to see how this becomes a favorite series.
