Ignacio M. García is the author of Hector P. García: In Relentless Pursuit of Justice (Arte Público Press, 2002), the first definitive biography of the founder of the American G.I. Forum. He is also the author of United We Win: The Rise and Fall of La Raza Unida Party (University of Arizona Press, 1990), Chicanismo: The Forging of a Militant Ethos Among Mexican Americans (University of Arizona Press, 1997) and Viva Kennedy: Mexican Americans in Search of Camelot (Texas A&M University Press, 2000), which won the Coral H. Tullis Award for best history of Texas in 2000. He is Professor of History at Brigham Young University.
