About the Author

I live in beautiful Queensland in Australia. I started writing in 2009 because I wanted to do something creative and haven't stopped since! I have two series of books:

The Heller series (first book Heller - free!) features the frequently outlandish adventures of security officer, Tilly Chalmers, and her complicated relationship with her beautiful, mysterious and intense boss, Heller. There will be seven books in total in this series.

The Little Town series (first book Blood Ties - free!) features police officer, Tess Fuller, and her struggle to survive a long-standing vendetta with the feral Bycraft family and at the same time manage the tense relationship between her new partner, Finn Maguire, and her boyfriend, Jake Bycraft. There will be five books in total in this series.

My author dream is to one day write a short story (which for me will probably be about 50,000 words!) where Tilly & Heller meet Tess & Finn. What a story that would be! Maybe over the end-of-year break???

I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them! I'd love to hear your feedback, so why not email me at: jdn.author@gmail.com

Loved it. Can't wait to see what comes next for Tilly an Heller. Will we ever find out about his background, family and mysterious missions? Will Farrell find a woman? Will Clive ever warm up to Tilly? Will Daniel find a partner? I truly can not wait for the next book. I hope some of these questions get answered. Keep up the good writing.

JD Nixon outdid herself with this continuation of the Heller/Tilly series! I was so engrossed in the story that reaching the end of the book caught me completely by surprise. Now on to the second time around!

This book was incredible, filled with an equal amount of sass and spunk. Tilly rocks! And although Heller can be a real pain in the batooty, he's pretty cool too. Also, I'd recommend this to anyone aand everyone. You go, Mz. Nixon! Five freaking stars!

Dont get me wrong, the book was funny. Love that her and Heller are a couple so to speak. But, i am tired of her constantly screwing up and having to be rescued. Its like the number books by Evanovich. At what point in time do you quit making bad decisions? I hope the next book is better as i was really looking forward to the release of this book and enjoy the series for the most part.

I really enjoyed the series at first, but now it's grown tedious. How many times can Tilly put herself in the same ridiculous situations. Also, there were no conclusions to any of the scenarios. I think this will be my last book in the series.

J.D., it is time to put Tilly and Heller to rest. Your editing is terrible, Tilly is getting dumber and there's no progress in her development nor anyone else for that matter. The next book should be the last in the series before you turn into Janet Evanovich.

I read the first four books in the Heller series and found them entertaining and they held my interest. Unfortunately Heller #5 did not meet my expectations in these areas.

This book wasn't nearly as good as the previous ones in the series. Tilly just wasn't her quirky self. The story seemed to drag and didn't have the typical crazy line that the others have had. I hope the next is more fun and Tilly gets back to her previous self when she worked for Heller.

This series just keeps getting better and better! Tilly's antics will have you laughing from page one!!! Heller is hotter than ever but still remains oh so mysterious -- kinda makes him even sexier if that's even possible. This book (series) is not for people that cannot laugh at off-the-wall situations or for people that do not enjoy reading about a good romp in the hay -- or, in Tilly's case, a combination of the both!!! OR for women that do not enjoy dominant male personalities, for this book (series) is full of them. I would recommend that you start with the first in this series (it's free, what have you got to loose), Heller. There are a lot of references to things that have occurred in the previous books that could leave a reader lost if they haven't read those. I promise you will be hooked. They are quick wonderful fun reads. Once I start one, I don't want to put it down! You should try out J.D. Nixon's Blood Ties series also. It is just as fabulous, and the first of it is free also. Thanx for my several hours of fun Ms. Nixon!!!!! I ALWAYS enjoy your stuff. Although I HATE waiting all that time between books, you always make it worth the wait!!! -- SPeeD

I enjoy the other books, but this book did not make me want to keep reading. There was too much gruff mindless f*cking. The word meatdrill is Never sexy. The main characters are STILL not realistic, likeable, or emotionally functioning adults. The middle was silly and out of place. The book got better towards the very end, but then abruptly stopped. I hate to say this, but I doubt I will bring myself to buy the next installment.

Another great book by JD Nixon. This is by far my favorite author. I absolutely Love the Heller series! I can read this series over and over and still feel it is as good as the 1 st time I read it. Who can resist sexy alpha male Heller; and then Tilly will always have you cracking up at the situations in which she finds herself. This series is a mixture of so many different things...romance, adventure, and comedy. Heller's decision did not disappoint. Can't wait for the next book!

Ch 3, Page 31 "I will kill anyone who tries to take you away from me, Matilda" -Heller Heller's feelings are so intense in this book. JD really lets the readers know (and Tilly) how serious Heller's feelings are for her. There is literally NOTHING he wouldn't do to keep Tilly safe and with him. Like the quote above, if killing someon gets the job done, then so be it. Matilda finally begins to see what she's gotten into. This is no relationship that she can just walk out of. What makes me love her is because she loves him anyways. Even though he's a killer. Besides, a Heller without his Matilda is a very dangerous Heller. He's incredibly possessive in this book, even to the point to where it borderlines insane. For all the other characters, we see bits and pieces of them as well. Niq and Daniel both grow a little and I'm so happy for them. This book mainly focuses on the relationship between Heller and Tilly though. Buy this book people! You won't regret it!

This an amazing writer. I have read all of her books and all of them are fantastic, filled with a number of adventures, and with complex characters facing canandrums and difficult situations. Sometimes they make good decisions, sometimes they dont. But they all grow and each book creates a niche for each one of them. It is hard to find a writer who can do this successfully. Most book series provide a list of characters the they match up on each book. The fact that this author is not focused on creating multiple happy couples, but in illustrating the complexities of work environments, adult relationships, family, sex, friendship, breakups, right/wrong, selfsteem (body image) ... is really refreshing. Another aspect that I like abouth this author is that she fills her stories with mundane details like needing to use the bathroom, or annoying a workmate mommentarily, memories (moments on previous books) etc. Those elements make the characters so much more real and relatable. A few moments or dialogues may be predictable to a degree, but not the story. In this specific book I found a lot of humor throughout. I laughed and laughed... Just what I needed. There were also other moments that left me in suspense and with questions and uncertainties about several characters. Can't wait for more. Definetly a must read author! Highlly recommend.

This was not one of my favorites by this author. On one hand, Heller came out of his shell a little, but on the other Tilly was made to seem weak and too needy.  I love this serious , but this one just seemed rushed to me. Hopefully the next one is better.

I waited for several months. While it was okay, it wasn't as good as the previous books 1-4
