Henry and Mabel: The First Tales

Join Henry and Mabel in the land of the Unbound Hills as they travel to distant paths and plights around them. Upon the town of Lancilane, the two hungry adventurers let us into their world in the first ever tales put to page, as Dragons, Cave Dwellers, and a trove of tricksy tormenters ail them and test their might. Serving as the first book, this collection of two extended short stories aims to introduce Henry and Mabel, a pair of elven-year-old quest bearers that aim to find the truth, both for those who hire them to find it, and for themselves, as their senses of self and purpose is challenged at every corner. Henry, son to no one, is a firm but flawed boy, dedicated to doing right by others, but finding himself unable to do right by himself in many instances. We follow his progression from fresh forager to more matured and seasoned traveler by the time the last page is turned, as Mabel attempts to keep him in check whilst also realizing he's a person of his own. Unlike Henry, Mabel has proven herself as able to almost always keep a cool head, but perhaps not allow for finite answers not to be obtained. Across the two stories, we see the ideas of confidence in pursuits and the need for adaptation around all turns, ushering in a new pair for the world to enjoy.
