About the Author

Dr. Barber has had a career in medical education training more than ninety ophthalmologists while serving as Department Chairman of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh. His training included Washington University, St. Louis, Medical School, Residency at Medical College of Virginia, and Fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (Harvard). He prides himself in being able to explain complicated diseases and treatment in common, understandable language for the average person. He is now retired, but continues to educate people through his books.
