Oh man, I love it when historicals are extra hot, include toys, cross dressing – yum! And I really loved the client. Set in England, 1822, the story opens with Jasper works at a brothel. The management prefers that he and the couple other men who are available to clients who have ‘different’ tastes, aren’t spotted by the wrong eyes since sodomy is against the law. Jasper has been seeing client Nate for about five years and his growing attraction to the masculine, but not classically handsome man, has grown into love. What Jasper doesn’t know is that Nate finds Jasper very handsome and despite his childhood love for his straight best friend, has something special sexually with Jasper. Boy, does he ever. The first time Jasper and Nate meet up in The Client, Nate is devastated that his best friend is getting married the next day. But some role playing where Jasper is an innocent virgin dressed in a sheer shift quickly brightens Nate’s mood. Then of course, there was the marble butt plug. I pretty much knew I was going to love the book from that moment on! Don’t worry though – this isn’t just about the sex. There’s a very sweet love story between the two men as they work through their hidden feelings and societal challenges. In addition, the writing is excellent and the historical feel is accurate –speech and setting - but not overdone. As a matter of fact, if you typically shy away from historicals, but like roleplaying and some kink – I would definitely give this one a try. I also really loved these characters and I loved them together. They had amazing chemistry. I think it’s because the story begins with the fact that these two men have a history together – they didn’t just meet – but the romance isn’t there yet either. Jasper has become Nate’s confidant, not just his paid whore. I really felt the affinity they had for each other. Overall, a great read from all angles, loved it and would definitely re-read this one and check out more from this author. This rates an enthusiastic 5 lizard claws! His Client Ava March Genre: GLBT Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Well, this is a shortish book, and concentrates on a brief timespan. Nathaniel always visits Jasper at the brothel, has done for the last five years, no-one else and they’ve spent a lot of time talking about his unrequited love for his best friend. Nathaniel is now heartbroken, he’s been living in hope that somehow, sometime his love would be returned, but now Peter is getting married. He’s never treated Nathaniel as anything but a friend but a man can dream....and of course over the span of those last five years Jasper has fallen in love with Nathaniel. He's only working there til he saved enough to live independently, and could have left two years ago, but like Nathaniel he’s been living in hope too. While he’s consoling and advising Nathaniel Jasper realises the same applies to him. He’s telling Nathaniel to move forward, stop harking for something that can’t happen, and he realises that even if Nathaniel did return his feelings their stations in life are so different that they could never be together. At least Peter could have been accepted as Nathaniel’s friend in London, they belong to the same clubs etc. and have long gone out to functions together, but there’s no way Jasper would ever be accepted.  Oh I so felt for Jasper, I could kick Nathaniel, mooning after someone who’s never given the slightest indication he wants him, and yet he can’t see what a gem he’d have in Jasper. He really doesn’t treat him as a person, doesn’t even look beyond the whore part of him, just uses him as a sounding board, and to sooth his own aches. He never questions if Jasper is happy and TBH although he’s what Jasper wants I’m not sure he’s good enough! Still, I do love a HEA and its what Jasper is looking for too.   .  Stars: Four . Its a fun read, short ands sweet. No great drama just a gentle HEA romance  ARC provided by publishers.

Jasper isn’t supposed to fall in love with the clients he services at Madame Delacriox’s brothel, he is only supposed to service those with special tastes and move on. If only it were that easy. Nate has been coming to see Jasper for years and used his body as he wishes for another, Peter who is going to be married soon. Can Jasper show Nate the love he is passing up for a dream that will never be? The story is entertaining and the sex hot an overall good read.

***I received an ARC copy from TKA Distribution via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*** This was a nice little escape from reality for a couple of hours.  The entire story revolves around Jasper being in love with Nate and Nate not noticing until it’s almost too late because he can’t get past the fact that Peter is firmly into women.  There isn’t much else that goes on.  You get a decent understanding of Nate and Jasper’s backgrounds and how they ended up where they both are when you meet them in the story.  I liked Jasper well enough and Nate was a sexy beast when he wasn’t lamenting the fact that Peter had no romantic interest in him.  Nate finally figuring out that it was Jasper he wanted, not Peter, happened quickly and I would have liked to see him grovel a little more, but I’m happy they got their HEA.  Overall this was a quick and enjoyable read with some pretty hot M/M sex.
