Then we lost all our money in a bad real estate deal. It was hard on the family, adjusting to living like normal people when we were once big spenders. I fought against the machine. But we were broke. Our old way of life was over. It was a reality check. Looking back, I can say that I wasn’t the happiest person in the world back then. I don’t think I appreciated what we had. It’s taken me 20 years to bounce back from that crash. Today I can tell you that my life is better than it ever was. I am happier, more confident and take life for what it is.I am living my dream to be a musician. I am not clouded by money and today keeping up with the Jones means less to me than before. Life is not some contest you have to win, who has more, who has what car, who is wearing which designer clothes. Life is sweet. The sweetest things in life are free.It's true... About the Author

Heidi Jacobsen was raised in Toronto, Canada, but left her homeland to attend college in Florida, and New York. She studied at Parsons School of Design in New York, where she obtained an Environmental Design degree.Heidi Jacobsen, 45, is the author of two novels, a short story collection, children’s e-books and 2 autobiographies. Heidi has also written several screenplays. Prior to her work as an author, Heidi worked as an interior designer in New York City and Boca Raton, Florida for nearly two decades.
