I am an early educaiton major at UT and I was asked to read this book for one of my classes. Usually I sell my books back at the end of the semester, but not this one. Some of it seems silly, but it works. I had the oppertunity to practice some of the things mentioned in the book during my first semester internship and was quite surprised at how well some of these things worked. It will not always work the first time, but if you make this book part of who you are, it will pay off. I can't wait to read other books by these authors.

I loved this book. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to be a teacher. I bought this book because I thought it would be beneficial to my teaching students. I loved how the characters in the book were teachers and parents and that all the examples of situations were changed to help the teachers in that situation. I also loved all the cartoon pictures to explain the situations in different scenarios. This is a book that is going to be very helpful as a parent as well as a teacher. I give this book a two thumbs up. Buy the book you wont be sorry.

Anyone who is becoming a teacher, is a teacher, or a parent. This is a great book. I am studying to be a teacher and I thought I knew how to talk to kids, but this book really opens my eyes. This book is a must. It is an easy read and chalk full of information. If you need further conviction, I am a bookseller for Barnes and Noble and many of my co-workers agree with me.

How we talk to our kids CAN help them be a better student and give them a desire to do great in school! The book has scenarios of different situations that parent are or will encounter with school-age children. The info presented was straightforward and concise; I read it one day! It's really GOOD and VERY HELPFUL.
