Overview

Perception is the way we view the elements of our life.

God has promised us that we will have challenges, but He has also assured us that He has defeated the world. Our challenges are only tests. Our happiness is attached to how we ultimately perceive these challenges and their purpose in our life.

In I Hate My Job, Lord Help!, discover the plot of the enemy and how he attempts to distort these challenges. What God has placed in your path to make you stronger, the enemy tries to use to break you down. Every life challenge however, is an opportunity to be perfected.

Job struggles can be real as well as difficulties in relationships. But you can live victorious in these situations by allowing God's plan for your life to be fulfilled through the purpose of each challenge. God's plan for your life is good and not evil. He desires that you have an abundant life.

By reading one book, you can not only change the way you perceive your circumstances, but the actual circumstances as well. That book is the Bible, but I Hate My Job, Lord Help! is a reflection of that which is contained in God's Living Word. Read and discover how blessed you are.

About the Author

Javan Matthews, commonly known as Van, is the youngest of five siblings. He is a member of Faith and Family Church (FFC) in Richmond, VA where he serves as an Elder. Originally from Richmond, VA (southside), Van attended George Wythe High School before going on to attend Hampton University and ultimately Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.

Van accepted the Lord as his Savior at a young age. However, in March of 1998 he rededicated his life to Christ. He has always had a love for the Word of God, but it was only after joining FFC that he began to minister the gospel unapologetically, unashamedly, and unhindered under the leadership of Pastor and First Lady Duncan.

In 2008, he married his wife whom he met at FFC. They have 2 daughters. Their adopted family scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 which states, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (NKJV).”

Led by the Holy Spirit and with his wife along his side, Van seeks to challenge the body of Christ to “GO HARD” for Jesus (Rev 3:16). It’s with that GO HARD attitude that he helped establish the Richmond Christian Flag Football Association in 2008; began an annual 120 Day Challenge where believers read the entire word of God in 120 days and wrote “I Hate My Job, Lord Help!”

To God be the glory for all He has done!
