Mac Bennett has just been released from the Marines after serving in Iraq. Yet, he realizes that he's not the same as when he left. He suffers from random acts of PTSD. In an effort to calm his mind and find purpose, he accepts a job in Green Pines. He thinks it's fate since that's where his best friend would go over the summers - the best friend that did not make it home from the war. Julie Anderson is simply trying to survive after her husband abandoned her when she was 5 months pregnant. Not only did he abandon her and her child, he drained the bank account and ran up the debt on the credit cards. Struggling, yet determined to make a better life for her son, she's determined to not let the handsome new coach distract her plans. When Mac and Julie meet, there's instant attraction, but they both have way too much baggage to sort through before either is willing to agree to anything - even a first date. But, what happens as they continue to see each other day after day? As I was reading, I was impressed by how the author developed this into way more than a simple romance. The characters are well developed and the plot elements are realistic. I was able to feel the stress and anxiety of Mac as he desperately tried to manage his PTSD symptoms. Likewise, I understood the fear in Julie when she thought about trusting another man. Then, not only were the main characters well developed, the author fully developed the secondary characters as well. The boys at the school, Julie's parents, former in-laws, and close friends were all characters that the reader got to know and understand. As far as the plot in concerned, there's a lot going on in this book. Not only do you read about PTSD and the struggles of being a single mom, you read about the effect of one's actions on those around you - whether it's alcohol abuse or getting tangled up in drugs. All in all, it's an excellent book based in a world of cruel reality where a tender and beautiful romance blooms. Romance - PG - some kisses Language - PG - nothing offensive Violence - there is a fight scene and non-graphic memories of war time. My rating - 5 stars

Green Pines is the perfect location for this sweet romance. I loved the peace and tranquility of this small town. Mac Bennett is battle scarred and heart sick. He lost his best friend in combat. He came here to feel closer to him and to escape the anger he feels toward his brother for dealing drugs. What he finds is a woman as battered by life as he is. Julie Anderson and her little boy, Pete, are on their own. Her husband abandoned her when she was pregnant. He had promised to love and care for them. Can Mac and Julie put the past behind them and become a forever family? I was drawn into this story by the strong, charismatic characters. They have heart and the courage to go after what they wanted. Milou Koenings touched me with this tender romance. It shows we should never give up and to always fight for what we want. I received a copy of this book. This review is my honest thoughts and opinions.

This is a great book! It is full of heart and feeling. Mac has just returned from Iraq, where his best friend died. He needs to get away, and the job in Green Pines seems like fate. Julie is a single mom. She has been hurt deeply and is hesitant to give love another chance. Their struggles and feelings were real, and I loved watching them learn and grow. They are such good people, and always willing to help others. I was rooting for them from the beginning. Julie’s son, Pete, added so much to the story. What a cutie! And the way Mac interacted with him would melt any woman’s heart! I really enjoyed this book: the characters, the story, and the small town setting, in short, all of it. This is the first book I’ve read my Milou Koenings, and I would like to read more of her work. I received a complimentary copy of the book. I have given my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this one. It's a great sweet contemporary read. It had a great strong female lead character that stole the story in my mind. The way Julie and Mac's lives are intertwined without ever really knowing each other is so interesting and kept me invested in the story all the way through. After suffering through a heartbreaking betrayal, single mom Julie is working hard to provide a good life for her young son. Mac is a former marine who has returned to civilian life and struggling through PTSD issues and simply trying to find his way. When these two meet neither is looking for a relationship. Sometimes though love finds you when you least expect it. I would recommend this one to everyone.

STORY-LINE I LOVE YOU THREE: I Love You Three is an intense story of love, lose, and forgiveness. Mac, back from several tours in Iraq where he lost his best friend Sean, now finds himself with PTSD and no job. Irrational anger, depression, and mood swings are ruling Mac's life. Needing a job, Mac finds himself in Green Pines as the new coach and teacher; Green Pines Sean's home town. Julie, young mother and divorcee, works in the school office. Julie's life is one huge conflict. A mother just this side of crazy, very little money, a son to care for alone, and a former mother-in-law she greatly loved but now ignores her and her son; all turn Julie's life into conflict and crisis. The attraction between Mac and Julie is strong and intense as they dance the dance of give and take and attraction. Can these two hurting people come together and help each other? Will fate step in and turn Julie and Mac's life around? Grab a comfortable seat, my contemporary romance novel review of I Love You Three follow. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT: Primarily a romance tale, I Love You Three also highlights the horrors our military face and bring home with them. PTSD's debilitating and can rob the person of their life if not treated and dealt with. Koenings does not shy away this issue so relevant today. Nor does she shy away from the issues involved in raising a child by ones self with few resources and little money. A sweet clean romance, I Love You Three is an entertaining read. Koenings sits the hook early and reels in the reader. I enjoyed the depth of the characters, the well-developed back story, and the original story-line. Koenings crafted believable characters along with a story-line which felt real. Koenings fully developed her characters; Julie has a strong backbone, facing family dynamics and issues with strength. Mac's a strong man with PTSD, yet he is a loving man in need of an anchor. Furthermore, family dynamic play a large part in this story for Mac and Julie. Mac faces PTSD, family issues, and a brother in prison. Julie faces a mother who's just side of crazy, and a mother-in-law she idolized but at the end of her marriage turned her back on her. With elements effecting more than the divorcing couple, (more than 2 peoples involved in a divorce), Koenings shows the damage/hurt to friends and family. Finally, in concluding my contemporary romance review of I Love You Three, I found a solid romance story squarely facing issues relevant today. The pace of the novel never lagged or bogged down but was smooth and steady. Also, I Love You Three had well-developed characters. The author conveyed all the emotions and desires in attraction without resorting to explicit sex to sell the story-line. Her writing skill alone carried this story. Furthermore, I would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend. I LOVE YOU THREE RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4 In addition, due the subjects of PTSD and family dynamics, I recommend this wonderful clean romance novel for young adults and adults. I look forward to the next book by Milou Koenings, FINALLY, PLEASE NOTE: Additionally, I received this book from the author and chose to voluntarily review the book with an honest contemporary romance book/novel review. Relationships are complicated. It was a positive, thrilling, adventure with love and Christian values. This book seamlessly integrated the past and present memories and interactions of the characters to form the basis for new development of relationships. The theme of struggle featured prominently in each major characters' path to resolution. There were multiple surprises with a nontraditional slant to the plot. This author's tight writing style enhanced the enjoyment of the book for this reader. Resolution of all the issues provided an ending that fit the storyline but still left the reader wanting more stories about the characters and town. I loved this book and highly recommend it.

Mac has a hard time adjusting to civilian life after his deployment as a marine. He has deep-seated anger issues that stem from the recent death of his best friend and his frustration that his brother is in jail on a drug charge. Julie is a single mom just trying to scrape by. Her husband deserted her and their child for another woman and she not only lost her husband and her “perfect life”, but she also lost a mother-in-law whom she deeply loved. When Mac and Julie meet, there is definitely a mutual attraction, but neither one is interested in a relationship. So will they succumb to the magnetic pull they feel between themselves? Or will they let the past dictate what their future will be? I was especially impressed with the well-developed back story in this book. It plays a key role throughout and I found it to be really intriguing. I also felt that the characters were fairly realistic. Mac has anger issues and Julie is somewhat bitter. I definitely felt that Mac was the more likeable character of the two, despite his stubbornness. But I was still rooting for Julie to get her happy ending in more ways than one. Overall, I felt that this is a good book with a great back story set in a small town that you can’t help but fall in love with and I definitely enjoyed reading it. (I received an ARC of the book. I volunteered to write a review. All of the above opinions are entirely my own.)

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. I Love You Three took place in the town of Green Pines. I have enjoyed other books by this author that are also set in this town. It was fun to come back and read about a different couple and see their story play out. If you have not read the other Green Pines Romance books, don’t worry, each novel can stand on its own. I appreciated the depth and complexity of the two main characters. Julie suffered a horrible betrayal when her husband left her for another woman. Julie proved herself to be a very strong woman as she worked to pick up the pieces of her life. That she was able to do this while also raising an infant was impressive. Mac suffered in other ways. A victim of PTSD, he had to deal with flashbacks and the unbearable pain of losing his best friend. There were other hurts that also kept him from living life fully. Julie and Mac had great chemistry and the romance developed naturally throughout the book. I loved the interactions between Julie, Mac, and Julie’s baby, Pete. There were plenty of other interesting characters peppered throughout the story, making I Love You Three a very nice way to spend my reading time. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I Love You Three by Milou Koenings Book starts out with Mac Bennett and he's back from Iraq and keeps up his physique by hours in the gym. He hopes to get the job as a coach at a nearby school. He lives at home with his parents who work daily and he finds daily chores to do... Story also follows Julie who has a baby and is the prinicpal of the school. She also takes care of her parents and is torn between leaving her child at the babysitters. What I like about this book are the descriptions of Green Pines-I can place my body there and take deep breaths and lose myself in the town. Like the idea of the construction and ideas to go green. The job is his and so is the place to stay after he fixes it up. His brother is due home from prison-drug charges and he doesn't want to deal with any of it. She's got a crush on Mac but her plates full...love interaction he has with the troubled teens. So much past comes forward and this is not a predictable story line. So many twists and turns. Excerpt from the next in this series is attached. I received this book from the author and this is my honest review.
