About the Author

Sharon White is an award-winning author whose work spans nonfiction, poetry, and fiction. Her books include Minato Sketches, The Body Is Burden and Delight, Boiling Lake: On Voyage, Vanished Gardens: Finding Nature in Philadelphia, Eve and Her Apple, Field Notes: A Geography of Mourning, and Bone House. Her book Vanished Gardens: Finding Nature in Philadelphia won the AWP Award in Creative Nonfiction, and her collection of very short fiction, Boiling Lake, received the Italo Calvino Prize in Fabulist Fiction. Her debut novel, Minato Sketches, was awarded the Rosemary Daniell Prize. An Associate Professor Emerita at Temple University, White's work has been featured in numerous literary journals and anthologies. She has also taught creative writing at Temple University Japan. She lives in Philadelphia.
