Morocco, 1930 Jean-Michel La Tour is trapped between worlds during the endgame of a war between French forces and Berber tribes.
La Tour- just days ago a legionnaire, now an exile leper.
From the valley de l'enfer- plunges fatefully into the last redoubt of the Ait Atta, one of the tribe still capably fighting domination of their unique and extraordinary land.

The Ait Atta believes La Tour to be avatar Jilani, come to save them from doom.
La Tour must convincingly play the role of lord; it becomes difficult at his first sight of Kenza, doubly so when he learns that a legion force, under colonel Roughet and major Mirvais, is en route to attack this citadel.
Together, Guardian and "Jilani" and the people must hastily prepare to meet their hours of destiny.
