A story of joy and happily ever afters! With the fifth book in her City By the Bay Stories series, Cari Lynn Webb takes us on a journey of weddings when big time business man meets small time designer and sparks fly. Josie was easy to like right from the start. She's just about the nicest person around, always jumping at the chance to help others and simply wants a little slice of happiness out of life. Theo was brusk and opinionated, but had a heart of gold when it came to making his little sister happy on her wedding day.  I recommend this story to anyone looking for a sweet romance revolving around a holiday wedding and the family drama that comes with it. It was fast paced and delightful.

I was so excited to come back to the City by the Bay series. And having it be a Christmas book was an added bonus, for sure! I love Josie. She grew up in the foster care system, never having a set of parents to call her own. She has had to forge her own way through life all by herself. Most of the time while she was growing up, people were telling her she couldn't do anything. But thanks to one woman, Mimi, she learned that she could do what she wanted if she set her mind to it. And what she wants to do is be an exclusive clothing designer. Her specialty is wedding dresses. And she will fight for what she believes in doing. She is hired to work on Adriana's dress. Adriana is the sister in a very high profile family. Landing this gig could really launch Josie's career. Adriana also knows what she wants out of her wedding and trusts Josie to handle it, but her family keeps getting in her way. I cannot stand Adriana's mother. She clearly has issues from way back in her past, as she always has to be the center of attention and literally steals ideas from her own daughter. She also seems to like to tell everyone else what to do. And right now her focus is on finding her own fiance so that she can get married by Christmas, even though the focus is supposed to be on Adriana. Theo, Adriana's older brother, isn't much better through a lot of the book. It took me a really long time to warm up to him. He is also business-minded and image-oriented. He also keeps getting in the way of Adriana's dreams for his wedding. And then he wants to remake Josie and her business, because he has his own idea of how she and her business should be. That kind of behavior makes me absolutely CRAZY. But Josie is able to look past all of this and sees something deeper within him. And as we get to know Theo a bit more and he thaws out somewhat thanks to his fascination with Josie, we are finally able to see some of it, too. So he is able to redeem himself. So this definitely was not my favorite installment of the series. Yet I was engrossed in the drama of the family's antics and was determined to see Josie rise above it all and be a success. And I was looking forward to the entire Taylor family learning how to listen to others and not always think of themselves. Some good life lessons for that family. I'm still looking forward to coming back to the City by the Bay in the future and touching base with all of the characters again. Thank you to the author, publisher, and Prism Book Tours for the advance review copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In Love by Christmas reacquaints us with Mia from The Doctor’s Recovery (whom I loved) by way of her business-mate, and heroine of this story, Josie. It was fun getting to see newly married Mia happy & succeeding in her new photography career, but I most loved getting to know Josie. Her kind & generous heart – even at the risk of much-needed profit – is touching, and it places her in direct contrast with romantic interest Theo who is all about the bottom line. Webb’s writing always draws you in to the characters (both main and supporting) and keeps you invested in them throughout. While I wanted to shake Theo for basically the whole first half of the novel, there was also something about his story that broke my heart & I loved watching his character growth over the course of the book. I also really liked Theo’s sister Adriana and seeing her heart a bit more as the story – and dress designing – moved along. Which brings me back to Josie … I envy that kind of creativity & thought Webb did a great job of helping readers easily picture her sketches & design process with movement and depth, despite only being able to ‘see’ those scenes on a written page. Bottom Line: In Love by Christmas is a touching story of two wounded souls coming to grips with the reality of their pasts vs. the idealistic dreams they’ve clung to for so long – while also embracing the parts of those pasts that have made them stronger today. I did feel like maybe too much time was spent rehashing those wounds in pretty much the same way each time (i.e. nothing new of significance was really covered in each new telling of the painful backstories), but once we get into the real heart of the story the pace picks up and nicely held my attention for the remainder. A sweet read for this holiday season – and beyond! (I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)

Oh how I love a feel-good Christmas story! Especially when it centers on an unlikely pair that shows so much growth the story bursts at the seams. Josie. I connected with her instantly. She had a hard life. I sympathized with her difficult upbringing and I rooted for her happiness. Theo, on the other hand, wasn’t all that appealing to me at first. His heart and his growth soon became evident though, and I love how he evolved. I also enjoyed the complications the family dynamics played in this story. Josie yearns for a feeling of family, and Theo’s family and family business could sometimes be…well… you’ll have to find out for yourself. Though the beginning of the story took off at a slow pace (for me) I ultimately became engaged and charmed. With Christmas, weddings, and romance swirling in the air, this sweet romance warmed my heart. Source: I received a complimentary copy of this book as part of Prism Book Tours. 'People only ever show the finished side of every project, Josie. Often the back side is just too messy.' (p. 105) Isn't that the way with all of our lives? All of us have blemished pasts and our families aren't always as they seem and that is what Josie Beck finally understands after getting to know businessman Theo Taylor. He, his mother, and sister appear to be living the dream with their wealth and success but it soon becomes apparent that their private family live isn't as special as people think. Former foster kid Josie is now struggling to create a successful design business to prove her self-worth and to also convince her ex-husband and his family. It is when two completely different people join efforts to provide Theo's sister with the perfect wedding gown that a journey begins to falling 'In Love By Christmas'. This is the first time that I've read any of Cari Lynn Webb's books and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. She has given readers a great storyline centered around these two people whose past hurts have influenced their present. Theo thinks only of making a profit in business and Josie's abundant generosity often reduces her profit but their instant chemistry suggests that there could be a workable partnership in their future. There are also several other realistic characters, quirks and all, who flavor this story and help make it such a heartwarming, but realistic, holiday read! If you are looking for contemporary romance and holiday cheer you will want to read 'In Love By Christmas' by Cari Lynn Webb. I was provided a copy of this novel from the author. A positive review was not required and these opinions are my own.

In Love by Christmas is a wonderful and sweet story by Cari Lynn Webb. I enjoyed this romance between Theo and Josie. I thought it was fun and entertaining when they were in the same scenes together. I loved watching them grow throughout the book. Even though it is predictable, it is so so good. I give In Love by Christmas four and a half stars. It is perfect for readers who enjoy a sweet, clean and heartwarming romance. Especially, for those who love stories set during the best time of the year – Christmas. I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

This is a sweet holiday romance story starting Theo Taylor and Josie Beck. This slow-burn romance brings two wary persons who are shaped why their pasts. Through the tribulations of wedding preparations and what it entails, the couple evolves toward better people separately and together. Supported by a myriad of families, friends, and each other along the way, Theo and Josie are delightful to read in this story. I'll admit, I liked Josie more than Theo, but he did turn a new leaf in the end. Provided a copy by author for an honest review.

This story revolves around Josie Beck and Theo Taylor. Josie’s childhood as a foster child was not an easy one, but one woman in her life, Mimi, taught Josie that she could create her memorable moments and that she should always be true to herself. Mimi was also the one that taught her to sew. A trait that inspired her to be the designer she is today. Her specialty is re-creating beautiful dresses from vintage ones. Theo Taylor is president of a high end company . A man that had little love as a child and one who will do anything for his sister, Adriana who is in need of a wedding gown. But there is also an ulterior motive to his actions. Though Theo and Josie were total opposites, there was an attraction as well. Little did Theo know that Josie was going to teach him the importance of life. Paraphrasing some of the messages in the story are : 1- do what you love, so it’s a passion and not work 2- don’t compromise 3- though the past can’t be erased , we can take the good parts and build from them I have to confess that it wasn’t till I had read 40% of the book, that I finally got engaged, thus the 3 star rating. It wasn’t clear to me Theo’s mother’s background, what the business was all about, the internal dialogues etc. But the message was worth my time. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

IN LOVE BY CHRISTMAS was a completely charming holiday romance read. Josie owns her own boutique where she designs and upscales wedding gowns, plus makes other clothes and costumes as desired. She lives paycheck-to-paycheck but helps a lot of people and lives life on her own terms. Her life is about to change when her best friend, Mia, recommends her to the wealthy Theo Taylor for his sister's upcoming nuptials. Theo runs Coast to Coast Living, a store in the vein of Crate & Barrel or Pottery Barn. The company his father once ran has exploded under his leadership and his full-hearted dedication. While running the business, Theo is also handling the producers of a TV show about the company and design as well as navigating his family. Theo is protective of his sister and her wedding, but not above seeing it as a business opportunity, while his mother is trying to make herself into the center of attention by steam-rolling her daughter and trying to plan her own wedding- while also locating a groom on short-term notice. As Theo commissions a wedding gown for his sister, he will also need to re-evaluate his priorities, what he wants out of life, and reconsider the relationships he has with his family. At the same time, Josie becomes more confident in knowing what she wants out of her own life. They have several adorable Christmas moments as they attend gingerbread house contests, lightings, and more, finding that they are each very attracted to the other. I would totally watch this if it became a movie and love every Hallmark-ish second of it! The romance is delightful and sweet with only swoony kisses (as a book in the Heartwarming line). There are some great personal moments also as Theo and Josie learn more about themselves in the process as well as loads of cutesy Christmas scenes. This is a really fantastic holiday read that I would highly recommend for fans of Christmas romance. Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.
