Overview

IP Subnetting Made Easy by John Kowalski

You cant take it with you. Im talking about the testing center, not death (well, yes, that too); but you can recreate from memory my cheat sheet which allows you to solve subnetting problems in seconds (yesseconds). No complex charts to remember.no tricksno gimmicks. Ive taught hundreds of students this method in my classes so you can be sure that it works (but dont take my word for it just check out the reviews).

I originally developed this book for my networking students at the community college where I teach and it is at their urging that I decided to publish this book. Since then, thousands of copies have gone out and the book has been adopted at several other colleges and schools. Students everywhere have loved the book over the years and I know you will too.

My goal was to produce a book that was targeted to a single topic, (IPv4 subnetting) that was inexpensive (less than $10), and was easy to read (less than 100 pages). I wrote the book to be used from time to time; not relegated to a shelf where it would gather dust. The cheat sheet method I use will allow you to solve IP subnetting problems in 15 seconds or less (no; that is not a typo and it is not a gimmick I really mean 15 seconds).

About the Author

Well, where do I start? Ive been in IT since 1986 when I got my start in database programming in the U.S Air Force. After my tour was up, I bounced around from small company to small company building computers and setting up simple networks (Novell, ARCnet and the like, back in the good old days of thin-net). Eventually I settled into a mega-corporation with a worldwide reach. I started out on the help desk and moved up. I have been fortunate to have supported huge data centers with thousands of servers and hundreds of routers, switches and firewalls. Ive supported corporations that have facilities worldwide with literally millions of customers. Ive worked for customers in the manufacturing, banking, healthcare and government sector among others. In my spare time I also teach networking courses at Saint Clair County Community College in Port Huron, Michigan where I can be reached at .

This is my first book.
