Overview

Just as peace between Omunga and Sakova appears to be a certainty, an evil mage steals the body of the newly chosen Katana, leader of the Omungan people. As the new Katana plots the destruction of the Sakova, a strange mystical disease ravages the country producing widespread famine. Both countries stand poised to annihilate each other, but the Star of Sakova fears a greater threat, which is brewing unseen across the ocean. To confront that new threat, she must preserve the armies of her Omungan enemy. Against all odds, she embarks upon a path towards a peaceful solution to the war, a path that could likely imperil the very existence of her own people.

Meanwhile, two young orphans discover that they are sisters and set out from the Sakova on an ocean voyage to discovery their roots. What they discover is enough to terrorize both the Omungans and the Sakovans, if the young sisters manage to escape the Island of Darkness to tell their story.

About the Author

Richard S. Tuttle started writing epic fantasy in 1997 with the release of the Targa Trilogy, a short series that introduces the heroes of the Alcea Collection. In 1998, he started an ambitious project of creating two separate and distinct series. The Sword of Heavens series continued the saga of the Alcea Collection with the next generation of heroes. It consists of 7 volumes and was completed in 2003. Simultaneously, he created the Forgotten Legacy series, an unrelated 8-volume tale of magic and mystery set in a new and varied world. The Forgotten Legacy series was completed in 2004.

In 2005, Richard created a 2-volume miniseries, Complement for a King. The series chronicles a gripping tale of a world where magic has become a consuming force, and focuses on three young princes who must strive to restore equilibrium to a world gone awry.

Starting in 2006, Richard spent 4 years on a 7-volume addition to the Alcea Collection, writing the Demonstone Chronicles. The series pits a recovering Alcea against a massive mysterious enemy that the Alceans are unaware of. The Demonstone Chronicles was completed in 2009.

Richard spent all of 2010 recording the Alcea Collection and releasing it in various audio book formats.

Richard S. Tuttle delivers another enticing fantasy tale in the continuing saga of the Forgotten Legacy series. "Island of Darkness" introduces previous characters and new, all well developed and intriguing. The ability to create new stories, while interweaving the old with the new, to lead a series forward, is a great feat for any writer - a feat that Richard S. Tuttle seems to handle with ease.

Writer Tuttle once more pits abundant, creditable characters against an environment of resonance, incidents, and aromas. Profuse detail allows the reader to perceive, experience, and witness the situations experienced by characters first hand. In this well written work Tuttle's always fertile imagination united with his peerless use of expression once again are more than evident.
