Just in the Neck of TimeT: The First Compendium

The idea behind using the descriptive writing phrase 'just in the nick of time' was decided in my focus of my own neurological malformation and original creativity. The story follows the actions of a Haredi Jew in the 24th century and his disability to not be able to move his hands independently of one another; if one moves a certain way, the other would resultantly move in the same function. His case is so obscure that the only person who would take it up was a disreputable neurosurgeon practicing on Mars. Since Yosef's parents didn't know about the danger of Dr. Dalleigh, they trusted him to perform 'treatments' for several years. Dalleigh was not interested in allowing for Yosef's spinal cord to clear the neurologically dually-transmitted hand movements but rather did surgery to try and succeed in viewing the ancestral memory of Yosef's family tree. This seeming human rights violations are central to the beginning of the book. There are some fun space missions and time and inter-dimensional travel in the book. Why write a science fiction book in the 24th century if there isn't developed space travel? Two alien species also appear in the book; one an ally, the other a technologically more advanced opposition. The book explores challenges of space travel and problems such as feasibility of simply accepted resolutions such as artificial gravity. Also natural gravity is explored as well considering the difference of mass endemic to the gravity on Mars. Yosef also has multiple romantic interests in the book.

About the Author

Graham Joseph Gerni lives in the Bloomington area and has until a brief interim when his father moved his medical practice to a small town around Richmond, Indiana. After the Ford Factory closed, the most contributable wage provider for the town, moved back to Bloomfield, Indiana. Mr. Gerni was born with the malformation Yosef Gershom is told to have along with the disabilities that come with it. Mr. Gerni often wanted recompense for the fact that he had such a disability and decided to write a novel about someone he could relate to. Graham Gerni has a Master's of Library Science from Indiana University, Bloomington. He is also working on a sequel to the work that you may be reading.
