About the Author

I was born and raised in Newark, Ohio. I was raised by my two wonderful grandparents. I wrote my first book at the age of 13, shortly before a severe car crash that put me in a coma for a week. It took some time, but I gradually made my way back to my passion, and still remain a big kid at heart. I am thankful to still be here today to take you on one of my new adventures. I still reside in my hometown with a more than amazing little boy, and rambunctious husky loving each day more than the last.

CHAPTER 1

There once was an old man hermit named Kermit. Who lived in an old brick furnace with his chameleon cat named Earnest. This old man was not what one would think ... He was a hoarder of things with the favorite color of pink. His beard was so long and grey that he would trip over it every which way.

Late one night when he was trying to sleep. Way up high in his chimney peak. There was a smell that brought him awake. He knew this smell there was no mistake. He awoke and said, "That's the sweet smell of coffee cake!" He climbed down his beard all knotted and entangled. Then jumped on his pink toy train and saw his long beard in every angle. Down the stairs the tracks started to tremble! The old man went flying but landed humble and nimble.

He took a deep breath to find that sweet treat. Swinging from his beard and hanging from his feet. The hermit went through loops and swirls. Only to find his old pink missing pearls! Could it be that he made a grave mistake? He took another deep breath and said, "Nope! That's definitely coffee cake!" He took a deep breath to find that sweet treat. Swinging from his beard and hanging from his feet. The hermit went through loops and swirls. Only to find his old pink missing pearls! Could it be that he made a grave mistake? He took another deep breath and said, "Nope! That's definitely coffee cake!"

But where, oh where, was that smell coming from? Over and under his long beard racing the sun. He found no coffee cake, not even a crumb! He stopped to think on his old grandfather clock. There he found his old missing pink sock!

His stomach began to ache. He then said, "I sure could use some coffee cake." Without another word he was on his way. Balancing on his beard it started to sway. Will he ever find this coffee cake? His legs gave out and began to shake! His stomach began to ache. He then said, "I sure could use some coffee cake." Without another word he was on his way. Balancing on his beard it started to sway. Will he ever find this coffee cake? His legs gave out and began to shake!
