I grew up in Southern California. I attribute my love of reading and writing to my parents who insisted on regular quiet time for reading and bedtime stories. The books I read and my life experiences fed my imagination. As a result, I began writing at 13 years old. I enjoy writing short stories, poems, lyrics, plays, novels and studying the Vietnamese language and culture. I have published a short story, several poems and wrote and performed a song for the movie soundtrack Western Skies. With my work, I document the human experience of love, loss, tragedy and redemption.
Tamara lives by a motto of unconditional love for her family. She believes that no matter what happens in your life, your family is forever. Although the series, “Family Forever,” is fictional, she drew her inspiration from family incidents and people she has met during her fifty-eight years of marriage, mother of two, grandmother of four, plus five great-grandchildren. Since Tamara was born and raised in Pomona, California, she decided to set “Family Forever” in the place she knows best. Stores located in downtown Pomona in the early 50s, the burning of Pomona High School, which she attended, and many other landmark businesses are all real. She writes from her home in La Verne, California. This is a five book series, covering five generations. Her husband passed away suddenly October 2015. Writing the book, Tragedy, Tears and Trust was very difficult due to the subject matter. Her emotions were still very raw, and many times she had to take a break from her writing. Decisions, is the last book for this series. Many readers have requested a sixth book. Currently she is writing about the unexpected death of her husband, “What the Hell Just Happened?” She hope this will a wake-up call to other women and what they should know before they become a widow. Their world will change and it will never be the same again, but you must continue to live your life until you once meet again.
