What do you do when Faerie asks a favor?

As a child, Ros Bolin escaped the Arcanum's clutches and helped topple a regime. Ten years later, having grown up in the relative safety of Faerie, Ros is adrift, anxious to make a life for herself beyond her parents' house but unsure of where to begin.

That is, until Faerie comes to call.

Kura, the realm's consciousness, feels the stirrings of an unknown threat and asks for Ros's help. Unfortunately, that means taking a position in the mortal realm as Faerie's liaison to the Arcanum—an Arcanum different from the one Ros fled but no less dangerous. With the help of her friends—a pair of wizards, an untrained faerie, a former foe, and a highly protective dragon—Ros searches for the cause of Kura's distress while trying not to throw fireballs at the infuriating new grand magus.

But the danger is greater than Ros imagines. If she can't solve the mystery, then Faerie and the Arcanum may fall. And the foe in the shadows is poised to set in motion a chain of events that not even Kura can stop…

About the Author

Ash has always loved a good story. Her childhood bookshelves overflowed, and she refused to take notes in her copies of classroom novels because that felt like sacrilege. She wrote her first novel the summer after her freshman year of college and never looked back. (Granted, that novel was an unpublishable 270,000-word behemoth, but everyone has to start somewhere, right?)

After obtaining degrees in English and creative writing and taking a stab at magazine work, Ash decided to put her skillset to different use and went to law school. She then moved home to Alabama, where she works as an attorney. These days, Ash can be found outside of Montgomery with her inordinately fluffy Siberian husky, who loves long walks, car rides, and whatever Ash happens to be eating.
