The Land of Nuorg
The Land of Nourg is a compelling tale that may be enjoyed at several levels.

Some will read it as an animal adventure featuring unusual teamwork by a young wolf, an eagle, a cheetah and an irregular badger in meeting one challenge after another. As the chapters unfold you also meet a Donkhorse which, you soon learn, is a cross between a donkey and a horse, along with two hawks, an elderly eagle with the same name as the wolf and others.

Some readers may experience Nuorg more as a morality tale of good and evil where characters are classified by their number of legs—two-leggers or four-leggers. Time is measured in day-rounds.

Still others may be captivated by the possible metaphors and mysteries of the story.

In his first novel, Chris McCollum has created a land very different from our own. Or is it? His cast of characters draws the reader in because they are so unusual. Or are they? In real life, we would never encounter the challenges that face these creatures. Or would we?

From the opening chapter to the final sentence, Nuorg pulls the reader along as one problem is solved while another appears just around the next turn. The end of the story will leave you wanting more.
