This is my first book by Kira Adams. The title of my review doesn't lie- UGLY CRY. oh boy. I tried to read this while I was at work! I'm sure they all thought I'd gone mental. I loved this book. It was beautifully written and I can't wait until book 2. This book is centered around Ciera and Topher. He teaches her how to embrace life and she teaches him how to love and open up. I don't want to give too much away, because every detail is important. Totally recommend!!

If you cry easily and are easily moved, you may want to stay away because this book will have you bawling by the end! It has ALL of the emotions of a great book! I fell in love with the cover but I wasn't expecting to fall in love with the contents as much as I did. It was emotional, and moving, and heartbreaking and so extremely hard to put down.

This is such an emotional journey you will definitely find yourself being pulled along with it. This book is a great redemption story and it really feels like you go through the same experiences as the characters. The author has made them feel so real. I loved the connection between the two main characters - at times it was palpable. It's this that made the story what it is.

I loved and hated reading Topher and Ciera's story. It made me smile, laugh, and cry. A beautiful story of an "average" girl who tries to stay invisible but one day she fails to escape the popular boy's eyes. Through the highs and lows of their relationship, both Ciera and Topher learn how to love and live. If you have read the Bright Side by Kim Holden, I think you would enjoy this story too. It is a tear-jerker but well worth it.

I was woefully under prepared for how much this book was going to wreck me. I also did not expect to love it as much as I did. Learning to live deserves all 5 stars and then some! It was so well written plus the characters jumped right off the page into my head and my heart. Every scene in this book was described so well I felt like I was experiencing everything first hand with Topher and Ciera. The last 20% or so of the book had my heart literally in pieces.
