First off, I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this story, minus the cliff hanger. Once started, I could not put down. At 14 years old Avery is attacked by someone in a mask or was it a monster. Everyone chalks it up as a school prank. For 10 years she's had issues and nightmares about the attack. Now women are being attacked and killed; one survives and describes a mask similar to the one Avery described. Is the monster back? A lot of intrigue, questions, and surprises await you in this book, and the cliff hanger just adds more drama and questions. Do Read. Occasionally, the dialogue doesn't track smoothly. Sometimes characters speak out of context, or you are not sure if character speaking is the correct character - like where did he come from.

I like a mystery that I cannot figure out and this was one of them. Enjoyed it. Started it and did not put it down except to eat and necessities. Finished it and am ready for the next one.

Gripping to say the least. Can't wait to read the second book. You never know what or who will be the next victim.

As the book went along, I found myself caring less, not more, about the characters. All of Avery's friends started to seem a bit creepy/clingy and everyone behaved in unlikely ways, including the cops. Then the editing really got to me, particularly the omission of commas when addressing someone. In most cases it was just awkward, but in some cases it was unclear whether the person was being addressed or talked about. I finished the book, but when I realized there were two more books, I decided not to finish them. I cannot imagine dragging out the plot through two more books.
