There are very few fiction novels about surfing, and those that do exist always have the same plot and the same ending (making the BIG wave at the end). Liquid Comfort is different. I actually liked the way it ended. Loved the contrasting characters of the two brothers, and story was filled with Hawaiian culture but not in an obvious "touristy" way. :)
