Two curious giraffes go on a kayaking adventure and discover nature's beauty on a lake, in this colorfully illustrated picture book written by a mother and son team.
Little Squiggle is a spunky giraffe with a new kayak! When he invites his best friend Little Lou to go kayaking, she is a little hesitant. Are there sharks? What will it be like?
As they paddle away from the lake's shore, they marvel at the natural wonders that surround them-butterflies, dragonflies, flowers, and fish! When beautiful music draws them to an island, they venture out of their kayak to find its source.
But when the unexpected happens, will they make it back to shore?
Co-written by mother and son, Laura Smetana and Stirling Hebda, Little Squiggle's Lake Adventure is a whimsical children's book about curiosity, courage, and the friends you meet along the way. This is their first book together.

About the Author
Stirling Hebda is still a kid and enjoys playing video games, freeze tag, and sports with his family. When he isn't at school, Stirling loves eating snacks and competing in enthusiastic rock-paper-scissors battles to get the best seat in the kayak. Stirling co-authored Little Squiggle's Lake Adventure with his mom, Laura Smetana. This is their first picture book together.
Laura Smetana loves writing, painting, and kayaking with her family. In the fifth grade, Laura created a book about a giraffe named Little Squiggle. After reading it to her son Stirling for bedtime, he said, "We should bring Little Squiggle back, Mom!" And that's what they did. Little Squiggle's Lake Adventure is their first picture book together. Laura lives in the Chicago suburbs, where she is happily at work on several new books for children.
