Overview

Stress is a silent killer that many are still unaware of. It has been normalized enough to not be deemed as a threat to one's well-being anymore. Many people do not recognize its dangers until it is too late. In our busy routine, we have conditioned ourselves to accept it and let it become a part of our lives.

"Live Stress Free Again" is a book that has collected all the relevant information to help understand the causes, effects, and management skills well suited to our modern world. In this book, Kevin Barnett dives deep into the science of stress and explores the ways it takes over our physical and mental health. This book aims to help anyone who wants to manage their stress better and live a healthier and happier life. It is a comprehensive guide to help improve their relationships with others and themselves. Moreover, it covers everything that you would need to help you navigate your daily life even when you are stressed.

About the Author

Born and raised in Arkansas, Kevin Barnett started his journey in the Behavioral and Mental Health field as a Mental Health Tech at Arkansas State Hospital and other facilities that provide symptom management for the Mental Health Population. After working as a Mental Health Tech for several years, he felt a need to further the education he received as a dual-service military veteran. He started his education while stationed in South Korea, and later, after returning to the States, he attended a local community college called SEARK College, where he received several degrees in numerous fields of study. Shortly after, he began an online journey at Capella University, seeking his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in October 2013.
Kevin was able to complete his degree requirements to graduate in as little as two years. Immediately after, he enrolled at Simmons University to start his journey in Social Work with a time management model he designed to help himself and others. He completed his Master’s in Social Work in a year and a half, from 2016-2017, with a Cum Laude academic honor.
His field placement assignments allowed him to transition into employment within a few months of graduating. He worked in several mental health settings as a Mental Health Professional (MHP), with a focus on community mental health in the Delta Region and the Southeastern part of Arkansas. While using models learned in his education, he was able to implement a 4-year model that allowed him to transition into Private Practice, where he is able to focus on providing individuals with therapeutic support and readings to help with common symptoms of mental illness like stress, frustration, depression, self-image, and anxiety. Kevin received the “Dr. Stephen Broughton, Sr. Mental Health Award” from the Pine Bluff Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He received this award in 2021, the same year he started his practice.
His main purpose in life is to help people facilitate positive behaviors and thoughts about their circumstances and experiences so they can make the required changes to live a fulfilling and rewarding life.
