Chapter One

I am inspired by the beauty of nature.

Spend time in nature. Walk in the park. Look out the window. Play with an animal. Listen to nature sounds. Look closely at a leaf or flower.

I freely share my gifts, talents and treasures with others.

Share your nectar ~ Volunteer. Smile at a stranger. Donate to a charity. Make someone's day.

I choose to listen to my heart and find joy.

Move in the direction of your heart. Do what makes you smile, laugh, and open your heart. Take one step towards a dream that you have for your life. Spend time with someone who supports your sense of adventure.

Today I choose to breathe, pray, laugh, sing, dance and BE. All is well.

Breathe ... Pray ... Laugh ... Sing ... Dance ... Be.

I am flourishing with no limitations.

Soar.

Stand with your hands open and your arms out and say this affirmation.

Feel your internal power.

Practice feeling lighter.

Soar.

The joy in my heart guides me to that which I am meant to be.

Reach for that which brings you joy. Take time to do joyful activities. Listen to music that makes you smile. Notice a child's laughter. Go to an art gallery or concert. Feel your heart smiling.

As I quiet my mind and listen, nature nourishes me.

Invite nature to nourish your spirit. Listen to the sounds of the night creatures. Look at the stars or moon. Watch a blade of grass grow. See a flower unfold its petals.

I simplify my life and have space for my spiritual growth.

Simplify. Clean off a counter. Donate clothes to a retail shop. Recycle old papers or furniture. Schedule 'me time' on your calendar. Feel peace in your body, mind, and heart.

I am infinitely powerful when I allow spirit to flow through me peacefully.

Allow life to unfold peacefully. Recognize what you resist and struggle against. Focus on peace. Watch for signs of natural events in your life. Relax.

I choose to be joy-full.

Let your joy explode. Focus on your heart and feel happiness. See your favorite color surround your body and smile. Laugh with a friend.

I see humanity in all human beings.

Connect lovingly with your brothers and sisters. Send a note to a friend. Thank someone. Apologize where needed. Hug someone. Understand someone's situation. Acknowledge someone's worth.

I celebrate the unlimited abundance in my life.

Celebrate abundance. Fill a page with your many blessings. Smile and say, "Thanks! I have everything I need at this moment." Invite a friend to an 'abundance' party. Share your fortune with others.

Each day, I stop, listen, and cultivate my oneness with spirit.

Meditate each day. Take a few minutes to be alone and in silence. There is no wrong way to meditate. Breathe, relax, let it happen. Choose a word to say and focus on, such as peace, love, joy.

I set my intention to be of service and do so joyfully.

Extend your heart in service to others. Service can be as simple as offering to pour a cup of coffee for someone. Ask someone, "Is there anything I can do for you?" Surprise a neighbor or older adult with a visit and an offer to help.

I let go and release troubles. I trust that all is well.

Gently release what does not serve you and the universe. Notice thoughts and feelings which cause you pain. Write the thoughts and feelings on a paper, 'thank them' for helping you to learn, and then tear the paper in shreds. Slowly throw the pieces away ... releasing the past.

I create space where I can be at one with spirit.

Create a sacred space. Clear out clutter. Find symbols of peace and joy and creativity. Light a candle. Have a comfy place to sit or lay.

I am one with God.

Understand deeply that you are not separate from God. Notice the miracles that occur each day. Notice that your hair grows without effort. Notice the sun rising and setting without intervention. Recognize you are one with spirit and with all things.

I am whole and complete.

Affirm your wholeness. Observe what you say and stop all criticism. Make positive statements about yourself. Record your gifts and talents and contributions in a journal. Post pictures of you being fantastic!

Love and light flow through me. I am love and light.

Express your inner light. Close your eyes and notice a beautiful light moving through your body. Notice how it looks and feels. Visualize your light moving from you out to others in your life. Practice acting from the light inside of you and watch it grow stronger.

I smile with joy and delight as I see with new eyes.

Find delight in the unexpected. Allow yourself to be delighted. Slow down and be surprised with what you see each day. Watch children. Observe nature in a new way.

God's love flows through me and out into the world.

Love with your whole heart. Notice judgments of yourself and others. Replace judgments with love. Practice loving unconditionally. Express your love to yourself and others.

I am at peace.

In the stillness, find peace in solitude.... Practice silence. Turn off the TV and radio. Find comfort with your own company. Schedule times for peace and quiet in your routine.

I am willing to step outside my normal routine.

Stretch your body. Stretch your mind. Stretch your heart. Stretch your spirit. Drive a new route to work or errand. Walk backwards. Write with the other hand. Try a new hobby.

I deserve time to rest each day.

Take time to relax. Breathe. Stretch. Sit and daydream. Hold an infant, a puppy, or a kitten. Do what calms you.

I am filled with passion for that which is mine to do.

Live from the center of your passion. Do what brings you joy. Explore what your passion may be. Revisit a childhood dream. Notice what drains you and what energies you. Choose to be energized by making changes in your life.

I participate in the law of giving and receiving love.

Recycle the love you receive so it keeps moving. Accept compliments lovingly. Give compliments freely. Find a creative way to express your love for someone. Keep a 'ways to show love' journal. Start a 'ways to receive love' journal.

I forgive myself and others with a loving heart.

Open your heart and forgive yourself and others. Identify any areas in which you have not forgiven yourself and gently love that part of yourself. Let go of a grudge. Lighten your load by releasing resentment. Tenderly love your imperfections.

I breathe in peace. I practice harmony. I am peace.

Be peace. Practice 'being peace' for a few minutes today. Make each action you take a peaceful action. Make each thought a peaceful thought. Pay attention to how peace feels in your body, mind and spirit.

I remember my connection with the divine spirit.

Look in the mirror and state, "There is no lack. There is nothing missing. All is in divine order." Celebrate your connection with the divine spirit.

As I spend time in nature, I am healed.

Be open to the miracles of nature. Recognize that change is natural. Understand that there is a natural flow to life. Lie on the floor of a pine forest and look up. Walk gently upon the earth and feel your feet commune with Mother Nature.

I see beyond labels and judgments. I see the beauty in all things.

Open your heart to the dandelions. Find beauty in an older person's story. Smile at a homeless person. See past a person's disability and focus on the person. A child once said, "I don't see color, I see people." See people.

As I stay connected with the Divine, I release all fear and know only love.

Journey from fear to love. In a journal, record what you are afraid of and then write, "I love life and I trust life. There is nothing to fear. I am safe." Bless a fearful situation with unconditional love.

As I listen and pay attention, I know what my purpose is.

Discover your purpose and gift to the world. Be still and ask, "What is mine to do?" Listen and know. Write the possibilities and see which one excites you. Take time ... the answer will come.

I am willing to see life in a fresh way.

See life in a new way. Think of someone in a different way. Trust life to be what you need. Think of an opportunity that exists to a problem. Paint a circumstance with the color purple. Smile.

I love my whole self as I am a perfect child of God.

Appreciate all of your parts.

Look closely at the different parts of this plant and appreciate every part.

Now look at your body and be grateful for every part.

Think about your personality, your emotions, your lifestyle, habits, and spirit.

Embrace every aspect of your wonderful self!

I trust the process of life. There is nothing to fear, for God is with me at all times.

Smile. Trust the process of life. Let go of control. Recognize that problems look different when time passes and we look back. You can do that for yourself today. Consider a worry and know deep inside that the situation is going to be alright ~ no matter the outcome.

I affirm: Everyone and every place is holy.

Practice knowing 'every place is holy'. Walk gently upon the earth. Show respect in all situations. Practice compassion for self and others. Understand that a higher power is at work.

I embrace and appreciate myself as a magnificent manifestation of spirit.

Embrace your own magnificence. Look in the mirror and notice the color of your eyes. Smile at yourself. Say something kind and loving. Hug yourself. Dance with your terrific self. Sing a song of joy and love.

I breathe with intention to release stress and reconnect with God.

In life's garden, breathe in peace. Breathing is a natural way to connect with your inner spirit. Inhale slowly and allow peace to enter your lungs. Exhale stress and let it go. As you breathe in, let your shoulders drop. Smile as you exhale.

I look at others with love and tenderness.

Practice looking at someone with love and tenderness. Start with people you care about. Try it with someone you don't know. Try it with someone who irritates you. Notice how warm you feel inside with this practice. Like the cardinal in the photograph, send love to someone from a distance.

I am grateful for my life and seize every experience with gratitude.

As the sun sets each evening, express your gratitude.

Make a list of things you are thankful for.

Send someone a thank you card.

Send yourself a thank you e-mail.

Create a gratitude jar with slips of gratitude notes.

Say something you are thankful for about each letter of the alphabet.

In a journal, record 100 things you are grateful for ... and remember to include yourself!
