Lucky in Alabama is a long story featuring MacKenzie Silver Howard, a young woman in Georgia who lost her only family members while a college junior. She closed her heart, vowing never to take a chance on losing the people she loved again. But a young man from Alabama brought her out of her locked world and took her to Alabama. When he also broke her heart, MacK was devastated again. But sometimes fate takes a hand and rights the wrongs people inflict on each other.

About the Author

Sylvia Nickels pursues her lifelong dream of writing from her home in the mountains of East Tennessee. A graduate of Tusculum College, she is retired from the telephone industry and active with local writer's guilds.
An avid reader for many years of stories and novels involving 'gumshoes', Sylvia once applied for a job as an apprentice PI, but to her disappointment it never happened.
She is the creator of two novel series. Widow Royce Thorne, main character of Disguise for Death and two other books in the series, can't keep from getting underfoot of Police Chief Jared Granite in Fall Creek, Tennessee, while searching for evidence to clear her late policeman husband's illegitimate son of murder. 
The second series features Private Investigator Cameron Locke, who tracks down killers in Wexler Bend, Tennessee, hoping her friendship with police Sergeant Shac Lane grows into something deeper. The first three novels in the series may be found at most book venues. 

Sylvia Nickels was born and grew up in rural Georgia. She moved to Northeast Tennessee many years ago where she now lives and writes. Several of her stories and books are set in that area.
