Great lessons for children to learn!
Wind whistled through a cold forest. The grass swayed and a group of cats prowled through the forest, sharp eyes scanning for any sign of life. They were obviously rouges and dissapeared. Soon a shecat appeared, she was sitting on a rock and two kits were at her feet. She kept whispering, careful, careful, careful...
Goldenpaw's eyes opened, his fur drenched in sweat. He panted, only to look into the worried eyes of Rabbitpaw. "Are you ok? You were mewing in your sleep." She asked. Goldenpaw took deep breaths to calm himself. "Nothing. Just a dream." Rabbitpaw relaxed, but her worried expression stayed. "Good, because you slept in!" She glanced back at the entrance of the Apperintence's den, her mew full of fear.
Goldenpaw sat upright, and bolted out of the den, Rabbitpaw behind him. Bright sunlight made Goldenpaw blink as he hurridly tried to groom his mussed fur. He looked wildly about for Bluestar, and found her talking to Hawkfeather. Goldenpaw looked for Whitepaw, Bramblepaw, and Darkpaw and couldn't find them. "Where is Darkpaw and everybody?" Goldenpaw asked.
Rabbitpaw sighed. "Bramblepaw and Whitepaw are out on a dawn patrol, Darkpaw's mentor, Ashfire, took him hunting, and- Oh hi! Mudpaw!" Goldenpaw looked over his shoulder to see a friendly looking brown and white tom pad over. "Hey Rabbitpaw." Mudpaw mewed. "Hello Goldenpaw." Goldenpaw smiled, purring. "Hi." He mewed.
Mudpaw turned to Rabbitpaw. "Hawkfeather and Talonpelt want us to practice fighting together." Rabbitpaw nodded. "Bye Goldenpaw!" She chriped and she and Mudpaw padded off. Goldenpaw couldn't help but sigh, feeling a bit lonely. He amused himself by watching two kits rough and tumble. After watching them for a bit, he knew the grey tom was Rockkit and the blue grey shecat was Mistkit.
Soon, Silverstar approached him. "Ready?" She mewed. "Yes!" Exclaimed Goldenpaw, his eyes shining with excitement. He got up and padded out of the camp after her.
The forest was cool, and early morning sunlight filtered through the trees. Soon, Silverstar stopped. "This is the training hollow." She mewed. Goldenpaw looked at the sandy hollow, and watched Mudpaw and Rabbitpaw spar. Silverstar padded away, and Goldenpaw followed her. Soon, a strange scent hit his nostrils and the sound of a river met his ears.
"RiverClan." Silverstar mewed quietly. "Step lightly, we are near enemy territory." Goldenpaw tried to step lightly, but it was a bit difficult because branches littered the ground. After passing a big group of boulders called the sunning rocks, a rushing sound filled Goldenpaw's ears. "Thunderpath." Said Silverstar. "The border between ShadowClan and our territory. Be careful." Goldenpaw gasped when he saw monsters zoom past him, a whisker's length. He was glad when Silverstar mewed, "It's getting late. I have one more place to show you. Four trees." Goldenpaw followed her until a rustle in the bushes sounded, and Silverstar stopped short. Just then a shriek rang through the air, and Goldenpaw almost stopped breathing. He knew that voice.
