About the Author

James was born at home in Southampton, England, November 1948. Son of a merchant seaman, he rarely saw his father until the family moved to rural Dorset in 1953. This is where he spent his childhood growing up with his two sisters and elder brother. Jim’s parents worked as butler and cook at the “Big House,”A grammar school education prepared James for a successful career in engineering. His career brought him to Boston MA in 1997 until ill health caused him to take early retirement in 2004. James continued working as a professional Chauffeur driving executives in Boston until 2012 when he retired and moved to Houston Texas. A devoted husband, father of four, grandfather, and greatgrandfather James lives with his wife Pam, near his daughter Amy and grandson Jaden.
