About the Author

Amber L. Drake owns Canine Companions Boarding and Rehabilitation Services in Bemus Point, NY. She works with large-scale pet corporations, rescue organizations and private clients on a regular basis researching and addressing issues in canine behavior and nutrition. In addition to serving as a Professional Canine Behaviorist, she is an Adjunct Professor at Kaplan University and Jamestown Community College. Drake has approximately 10 years of experience in the field of biology and animal science. In addition to her work experience, she has approximately 9,000 volunteer hours in the veterinary field.

Drake has earned a Doctor of Education (ABD), a Post-Masters Educational Specialist certification, a Master of Arts in Education, a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an Associate of Science in Biology. In addition to completing degree programs, she has completed coursework in Veterinary Technology at Penn Foster, Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University and Biochemistry at UC Berkeley. In August 2016, she will begin a second Master’s program, Master of Science in Environmental Law and Policy, to further her skills as a Professor as well as remain up-to-date in her field. She also continues to complete courses in canine psychology, canine behavior and canine nutrition.

Drake has been featured in numerous online news articles, magazines and features for her expertise in veterinary science and canine behavior.
