The spectrum of Robert Beanâ??s first collection of poems and short fictions ranges from light and whimsical to strange and dark The 70 odd pieces have been gleaned from a life of border crossings, serial migrations and cultural drift. They are loosely arranged in an attempt to make some sense for the reader, the author having abandoned that hope somewhere along the way between his childhood in post-war Manchester and his bucolic anecdotage in South Australia. A few of the authorâ??s old drawings are thrown into the mix for no discernible reason. Prepare for a diverse and diverting experience.
