Love and respect is a task that should not be left undone, not only for people but for animals as well. A dog has a likeness to human feelings when away from those looked to for needs, comfort, and love as well as the joy felt when reunited. This story helps the child to understand how a little dog loves, communicates, and expresses needs, desires and hurts much like their own. Max, a little Shitzu, is left in dog care for a time and goes through an emotional experience with other dogs and their various types of personalities.

About the Author

Sarah W. Austin earned degrees from Northern Arizona University. She holds both a Bachelors and a Masters in Business Education and a second Masters in the teaching of English as a second language. With experience at secondary, college, and university levels, not only in the United States, but in Canada, Mexico, and Japan, it is with considerable insight that Sarah teaches how to better understand and accept others through the area of non-verbal communication and cultural differences. Sarah�s love for children is exemplified by her teaching and directing Biblical education in both Presbyterian and Episcopal churches for more than 20 years. In addition, she served two years as a volunteer in a mission to Japan. Now enjoying life in the quiet countryside of both Arkansas and Oklahoma, Sarah is writing children�s books and continues teaching part-time as an adjunct professor.
