Mechanized Might: The Story of Mechanized Warfare
Originally published in 1942, this book gave the first popular account of mechanized warfare—a subject on which its author, Major Paul C. Raborg, was a thorough master.
Raborg describes the unchanging character of military strategy and the mechanized armies of today, gives a detailed and complete picture of America's new armies now in the field, and illustrates high-power blitzkrieg tactics with an analysis of the Battle of France where operations of the Nazis proceeded "according to plan."
"The entire future of our world depends on the mechanized might which is produced by the United States. Although no victory in this new war of speed can be accomplished without superiority in the air, and although naval strength figures prominently in this most terrible of all conflicts, the Second World War, no victories can be decisive, complete, or final without the most efficient mechanized and motorized land armies.[…]
"The descriptions set forth herein are vitally necessary so that every citizen of the United States and of all the democracies may fully realize the mechanized might of our present new armies and the overpowering mechanized might that is planned for the future and thereby know that, regardless of reverses, eventual victory is certain."
"Mechanized Might is written in a style easy for the general public to understand. The book has tremendously intrigued and interested me, for I, like its author, took active part in the First World War and have since watched with unflagging interest all developments, especially in regard to the smashing style of German warfare that has wrecked Europe. I cannot see how this book can fail to interest everybody, especially as we are in a war of frightfulness up to now unequaled in history.[...]"—Lt.-Gen. About the Author

MAJOR PAUL C. RABORG (Feb. 12, 1886 - Dec. 18, 1956) was a decorated United States Army officer, World War II analyst, newspaper columnist, commentator on military and political strategy, and acclaimed author.
In a career which began with his enlistment as a private in the 2nd United States Cavalry, his duties with the U.S. Army included assignment to staff, aerial, cavalry, infantry, machine gun, remount and school work.
He saw active service as a Lieutenant along the Mexican border, and for commendable service was appointed aide-de-camp to General Tasker H. Bliss, America's foremost student of military history and strategy. He was later detailed as aide to General James Parker in command of the Southern Department and became familiar with the complex administrative machinery of the then largest Army district.
On America's entrance into WWI, Major Raborg was immediately sent to France for duty with the French and British Armies. He later served as a machine gun officer in frontline operations with three American divisions. For his service he was awarded eight medals and decorations from the U.S. and France.
Prior to WWII, he traveled widely and continued his extensive studies of the latest developments in strategy and weapons of modern warfare. When the Nazis overran Poland, Major Raborg was immediately consulted as one of the foremost authorities on military affairs.
He wrote a daily column for The Brooklyn Daily Eagle and was a radio commentator on military and political developments throughout the world.
LIEUT.-GEN. ROBERT LEE BULLARD (January 5, 1861 - September 11, 1947) was a senior officer of the United States Army. He was involved in conflicts in the American Western Frontier, the Philippines, and World War I, where he commanded the 1st Infantry Division (nicknamed "The Big Red One") during the Battle of Cantigny while serving on the Western Front.
