“Then, as soon as I say ‘Do it’, the whole Fenos will do it. Without thinking, deciding and using the slightest thinking mechanism?”
“Everybody without exception.”
“All of them will turn into walking shadows. I will use them as my favourite toys. I will shine them and I will renew them. I will turn them into ornaments that obey my orders.” He grinned again. “I will call them ‘My Golden Shadows’.”
The boy stood in the hole he was hiding afraid to breathe. While he was adjusting his stance, the tree suddenly disappeared.
