About the Author

Mark A. Nokes earned his Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2005. He has performed in ensembles, as a solo guitarist, for film, and as a session guitarist. Mark has played many diverse styles of music on and off the stage including jazz, rock, rhythm and blues, blues, pop, and metal. From 2011 - 2012 he served as Adjunct Professor of Music Theory, Composition, and Guitar Session Styles at the Academy of Contemporary Music. Mark has taught hundreds of students guitar lessons throughout the years, some of which have gone on to see success as professional guitarists. While he would never take any credit for their success, he is extremely proud to have helped them on their journey.
