I discovered my ex's secret. Now I'll do anything to win her back.

I'm Griffin Reed—cutthroat entrepreneur and competitive bastard. Trust is a four-letter word and everyone is disposable...except Britta Stone. Three years ago, she was my everything before I stupidly threw her away. I thought I'd paid for my sin in misery—until I learned we have a son. Finding out she's engaged to a bore who's rushing her to the altar pisses me off even more. I intend to win her back and raise our boy. I'll have to get ruthless, of course. Luckily, that's one of my most singular talents.

Sixty days. That's what I'm asking the gritty, independent single mother to give me—twenty-four/seven. Under my roof. And if I have my way, in my bed. Britta says she wants nothing to do with me. But her body language and passionate kisses make her a liar. Now all I have to do is coax her into surrendering to the old magic between us. Once I have her right where I want her, I'll do whatever it takes to prove I more than need her.

Book two in the More Than Words series is another emotionally gritty romance that draws readers in and refuses to let go. After throwing the love of his life, Griffin’s discovered that they have a son together and decides he will do whatever it takes to win her back. Britta is engaged and on the cusp of moving on with her life and there is no way she open her heart enough to let Griffin in again. Griffin and Britta are strong, characters that readers can’t help but feel for as they try to navigate the tense emotional roller coaster of the current situations and the emotions that flow between this couple is poignant, gritty and real. They have the sizzling chemistry and the undeniable attraction but the trust just isn’t there and readers can’t help but become caught up in the anticipation of what will this couple have to endure and will they be able to reach that happily ever after stage. The story flows at a steady pace and with lots of uncertainty which keeps readers glued to the pages of this intense and emotion charged romance. The characters really reach out to readers and it is obvious that this couple belong together but proving that one can be trusted is easier said than done and in order to really win the heart, one needs to let go of the past and purge it from their system by sharing the pain with the other and the author has made that painfully clear in this realistically feeling romance that caused me shed more than a few tears.

Interesting enough .

Wow this book is full of angsty goodness! This book gave me all the feels, I laughed, cried and sighed. Britta and Griff have a hard road to happily ever after but it is so worth the read! I love that this book is all from Griff's point of view which gives the story a different twist. Griff is determined to be a part of Britta and their sons life. He wants to make amends for the past and convince Britta that they can live happily ever after. Britta is a strong single mother who gives Griff a run for his money. This book is angsty but that just makes the end so much sweeter. The angst adds to the story and does not bring it down. If you are looking for a book with depth, romance, humor and redemption then this needs to be your next read for 2018!

4.5 STARS After reading the first book in this series, More Than Want You, I was craving this book like a junkie in need of a fix. After I devoured it, I was left with a feeling of sweet satisfaction. This book is a standalone and you don't have to read More Than Want You to be able to follow the story, but you're going to appreciate this book a whole lot more if you do. And since the first book was freaking amazing, I'm going to HIGHLY suggest you read it first. I'm not going to say too much about the story. It is told strictly from Griffin's POV. It picks up near the end of More Than Want You where Griffin learns that he has a son. He's messed up with Britta in a major way and sets out to make things right. Well, it's a rather steep uphill battle for this infuriating guy so brace yourself for a delightfully intense and intriguing slow burn. The thing I love most about this series, is that like a movie, the story has a soundtrack. Shayla Black has created playlists for both books, and has incorporated the sentiments of the songs into the story and the plot, bringing an extra dimension to the emotions in the story. As someone who LOVES music, I'm declaring this idea is "story planning level: genius."

Griff and Britta's story was as heartbreaking as it was beautiful. While Griff was determined to win back Britta and be a father to their son, Britta was trying to protect herself from being broken yet again by Griff. Watching Griff develop a relationship with his son both brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my lips. Although I was rooting for Griff to win Britta over through the entire book, I could totally understand Britta's reluctance to just give into Griff. I'm not normally a fan of second chance love stories but I absolutely loved this story. Shayla Black always delivers with stories that draw you in and keep you wanting more. More Than Need You was yet another such example. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

MORE THAN NEED YOU is the second installment in Shayla Black’s contemporary, adult MORE THAN WORDS romance series. This is realtor Griffin Reed, and PA Britta Stone’s story line. MORE THAN NEED YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion. Some of the events of MORE THAN NEED YOU run parallel to the events of book one-MORE THAN WANT YOU. Told from first person point of view (Griffin Reed), with a final chapter by Britta Stone, MORE THAN NEED YOU is a second chance romance focusing on the rekindling relationship between realtor Griffin Reed, and PA Britta Stone. Brothers Griffin and Maxon Reed’s relationship was upended and destroyed when Griffin perceived a betrayal by the woman he loved Britta Stone, and the brother he once shared a thriving business and brotherly bond. Fast forward to present day, wherein Griffin discovers that Britta gave birth to his son, months after he walked out of her life, and in the ensuing time Griffin had manwhored his way through a long, list of women. With the revelation that he and Britta had a son, and Britta is newly engaged to a man who is willing to raise Griffin’s son as his own, our hero demands sixty days together with the woman he once loved, to prove that he is capable of fidelity, romance, and a promise for the future. Griffin Reed thought his life was over when he perceived a betrayal by the woman he loved. Not only did he accuse his brother of scheming and plotting against him, but Griffin also believed Britta Stone was a part of the conspiracy to destroy his life. Finding out he had a son threw Griffin Reed into an emotional abyss. Britta Stone’s life was destroyed the day Griffin accused her of colluding to sabotage his career, with his brother, behind his back. Their fractured relationship, alongside Griffin’s hatred for his brother, destroyed any semblance of a future and a family for our story line heroine. With the prospect of marriage to a man she doesn’t love finds Britta Stone accepting Griffin’s sixty day offer of a temporary truce after which she will be in control of both of their futures. The relationship between Britta and Griffin is one of second chances; an acrimonious affair wherein Griffin is determined to win back the woman he loves, and to prove he is worthy of a second chance. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. We are reintroduced to Griffin’s brother Maxon Reed, his fiancé Keely Kent, Griffin and Britta’s son Jamie, and Britta’s fiancé Makaio Kale. Griffin and Maxon’s sister Harlow Reed’s story line is next in MORE THAN LOVE YOU. The world building follows the rebuilding of two fractured relationships: Maxon and Griffin; Griffin and Britta, as well as the restructuring of a business that was all but destroyed by misconception and miscommunication. MORE THAN NEED YOU is a sexy, second chance romance. The premise is engaging, inspiring and heartbreaking; the characters are passionate, determined and charismatic; the romance is passionate, emotional and intense. MORE THAN NEED YOU is a captivating look at family, love, and the fall out of secrets and lies.

Griff is self-centered, egotistical, ruthless, and a bastard. He’s the first to admit that. He loved someone once and then he screwed it up. He knows he will never love anyone again. Britta loved someone once, until he broke her heart. She spent three years trying to get over him, while raising their son as a single mother. She thought he know, bud didn’t care. When Griff learns he has a son he knows things will change and he knows he will stop at nothing to be the father his son needs and to make Britta know how much he loves her and has never stopped loving her. After learning she is about to marry someone else he knows he has only a short amount of time to win her back so that she will marry him, something he had always wanted. After she tells him she doesn’t need him and doesn’t think exposing her son to him is a great idea he steps up his game. Giving her an ultimatum is the only thing he knows will make her see he’s not the same man. Over the course of the next two months Britta must face her feelings. Does she still love Griff, does she want to believe he has changed, can he be a good father, will Griff be the man he’s told her he is or will the pain and secrets from his childhood continue to come between them. He’s said she is the only woman he’s ever loved and will always love him, does she feel the same. After reading the last book I wanted to know about Griff and why he is how he is. I wasn’t disappointed. I actually enjoyed that the book is written in his point of view. I think it helps to fully understand him. While he can come off as a jerk by the end of the book. You’d be hard pressed to not love him. I think Shayla Black is an amazing author and can create well developed characters. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

I love second chances and Griff just pulled out all the stops! I love that this is from his point of view and the angst he goes through to win back his family! I certainly didn't see the twist towards the end!

Oh Griffin beautifully broken man you! Through this whole book, I found myself rooting for Griff and hoping that he can win Britta back into his life. It's obvious that Britta has never gotten over Griff and he is doing his best to show her that he's changed. Watching Griff with his son, Jamie, was so precious. He loves being a dad and does a great job showing Britta and Jamie that they are his world. When Griff lays his soul bare to Britta, my heart completely broke for him and what he experienced growing up. This was a great second chance love story that completely captured my attention. I loved Griff. I wanted to shake Britta sometimes and say take him back!, but it all works out as it should. Great read!

A serious, special, heartfelt, tear inducing second chance romance like NONE I have read before. Shayla Black brought EVERY FEEL to this one. Griff was WAY MORE than I imagined. I love love LOOOOVE how Griff has to work hard for his second chance with the one woman he always loved. Instead of him constantly thinking sex is THE answer and instead of using just words, he needs to PROVE to Britta that he is the man for her. Even with the heavy-ness of the plot, there was still plenty of sparks between Britta and Griff. And I absolutely cherished watching Maxon and Griff get a brotherly bond that really helped him win back the woman he loved. It was touching, sweet, heartfelt, and just gives me the sense that this book is beyond anything I have read in the past by Miss Shayla. It feels more special and the romance more fresh, more giving, more, well everything. It brings my emotions to the surface and it just makes me cherish the happily ever after that much more. More Than Need You is sweet, sexy, beautiful, heartfelt and will make you cry and sigh. Its a dream inducing story that will undeniably touch your heart and have you cheering for that second chance. I give this an INCREDIBLE, EMOTIONS RUNNING WILD FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Shayla Black's More Than Words series is truly spectacular and sweet, sexy, and just touches my heart in a way that just causes me to sniffle and want to hug my ereader long after I finish them! I feel like we get more romance between the heroes and heroines and makes it so incredibly sweet...I HIGHLY recommend these books!

I adore Shayla Black! She masterfully delivers story after story full of passion, love, heartbreak, and redemption. Griff and Britta's journey through their painful history and reconciliation is both poignant and moving. If you read More Than Want You (encouraged but not necessary), you'll better understand the emotions and reason for Griff's estrangement from everyone that he loves. We start More Than Need You immediately after Griff discovered he has a child with Britta. From that moment forward, he vowed to become the husband and father that she and Jamie needed. It was a difficult road but one he was willing to walk even if he had to play dirty to get what he wanted. And with Britta harboring so much resentment, anger, and heartbreak, he needed every advantage. Griff and Britta broke something inside of me. I felt so many emotions reading their story. I was frustrated, angry, and sad the majority of the time. Griff's heartbreak over his actions and how they affected everyone cut deep. I was in tears watching him try to reconnect with Britta and form a relationship with his son. He was so vulnerable and open. Knowing all that he was willing to do for Britta and Jamie made the torture that she put him through to gain her trust and love infuriating. Granted he deserved to grovel for the way he left her, but it almost felt cruel. I couldn't help but wonder how long she was going to force him to prove that he'd changed. However, I was glad that she didn't jump into bed with him allowing them to fall back into their sexual relationship before their issues were resolved. It was nice seeing them grow in love again through other means. The journey was long and arduous but well worth the emotional roller coaster to see Griff and Britta finally find their happily ever after. And the music added an element to the story that brought all the pain and longing to the forefront. I was glad to see Griff rebuild his bond with his brother, especially after all their parents had and continue to put them through. Now I'm going to have to find a way to suppress my anxiousness while waiting to read Harlow's story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.

You Need To Read This Book This is the second book in Shayla Blacks More than words series and this was a marvelous addition. Griffin Reed is trying to win back Britta Stone and his son Jamie after leaving them and making not being in their life for three years. With Keeleys helps and his brother back in his wife he tries to get to know his son. Watching the relationship was great between Jamie and Griffin and seeing how much Britta was really trying do what was right for her son but also try To keep her heart safe. Shayla did a great job that you don't want to put this book down and you keep wanting more. Can't wait for Harlows book.
