Overview

Observations on society and major issues of the day from a stuffed pig who just happens to know everything. In 78 concise, single-topic chapters, Mr. Maurice unleashes his acerbic, witty, and delightfully wise opinions about everything from work to politics, ambition to fine dining, TV to dignity, movies to liberty, and law to the opposite sex (delicately stated, of course, since Mr. M. is a civilized gentlepig). Whether its personal behavior and etiquette, cultural trends and social issues, or matters of global and cosmic importance, Mr. Maurice stands ready to deliver his penetrating, sharply-honed, sophisticated comments on the subject.

About the Author

James M. Flammang has been a journalist, writer, and editor for his entire working life. Since the 1980s, hes covered the automobile business as an independent journalist. In addition to contributing countless product reviews and feature articles to such publications as autoMedia, Kelley Blue Book, J.D. Power, cars.com, Consumer Guide, and the Chicago Tribune, Flammang has authored more than two dozen books. Most of those titles were about automotive history, but he also has written six books for children. Flammang is a member of the Freelancers Union, as well as the International Motor Press Association and Midwest Automotive Media Association (past president).
During the past few years, Flammang has eased away from the auto business in order to concentrate on books: mostly essays and memoirs, along with a bit of fiction. Mr. Maurice.... is the first of those titles, and Flammangs first e-book, to be followed by Incompetent, Absurdities, Work Hurts, Hotel Life, and Scaredy-Cat. He is also working on e-book buying guides for used cars and hybrid/electric automobiles. Born in Chicago, Flammang lives just outside that city with his wife, advisor and editor, Marianne (who also answers to the name, Petunia).
