CHAPTER 1
A Candle Glows
In the deep, deep night, in my deepest anguish,
In one lonely corner of the room,
My weary soul is knelt in prayer;
And through my tears I see
The sweet, sweet face of Jesus,
The bleeding heart of Jesus
As a candle glows.
A candle glows for you my love,
To light your path in the darkest night,
In this stormy night, my love.
Like the fire of love in the Sacred Heart
Of Jesus, to Jesus I leave you my love.
Close your eyes, sleep in peace
As in my heart, I shall kiss you good night
And my fingers stroke your hair,
As I gently lay your head on the pillow
And in my soul I shall keep all the love
That shall burn evermore
As a candle glows.
A candle glows deep in my heart.
For in this heart is the truest love
That only God can see.
Oh fire of love, burn in my heart!
Keep burning, just burning
To warm my sweet love!
In this cold winter night,
Keep him warm, safe from harm,
Bless his dreams, watch he doesn't wake
To see the storm outside
In this lonely night;
The raging wind that tries to blow
The candle's glow.
My soul shall stay up in the night
To watch my love,
As a candle glows!

Don't open the door! Don't open

Ah, push me away! Please push me

I shouldn't enter your world!

That's what they say.
Though you love me so much,
I shouldn't enter your world,
But run away.
I love you too much, I could cry.
I see my world crashing in pain.
And, yet, I beg you not to cry
As you watch me walk away.
I shouldn't enter your world.
Such a forbidden world!
What a curse to love
Someone you just can't have!
You said with sadness we should
part,
Soft-spoken words that were just
tearing you apart!
But your eyes could not conceal
The hidden passions that your
heart yearns to reveal
And right or wrong, our love is
true.
My dearest moments are with you.
It breaks my heart to have to say
"I shouldn't enter your world!"
I shouldn't enter your world.
Such a forbidden world!
What a curse to love
Someone you just can't have!
I shouldn't enter your world,
But, for tonight come softly, love,
Lay by my side.
Take my warm breath in a kiss
And make me deaf to the world
And all its pride.
I only know I love you so.
Let's share our love sweeter than
wine.
And, as I turn to go, I'll die.
I shouldn't enter your world!
You told me you're not free
And that I should stay away.
But in your eyes
I see the world of love
Which, with all yearning,
You want to take me to.
My heart feels nothing
But the love and the joy
We can share together.
And, right or wrong
With deepest love,
I wish to be with you.
But it breaks this heart that
loves you
As in my mind,
I hear the words
"I shouldn't enter your world!"

True love that blossomed
In a forbidden world will linger on!
I can't stay in your forbidden

At one moment in my life
At one moment in my life,
I sat so sadly by a stream.

My soul was shackled to a dream!
Then my love you came to me
And gently dried my tears that I may see
The beauty of a faithful love in your arms
At one sweet moment in my life!

Just hold me close against your heart
And with love's breath make me forget
The darkest and loneliest night.
Your eyes gaze at my eyes,
Touching my soul, warming my heart,
Promising love
That would last now and forevermore.
Sweet breath, breath that consumes me,
Breathing life into my soul,
Bidding it to live again!
Into your arms I'd fl y,
Leaving sad memories
At one moment in my life.
If This Isn't Caring
My pride won't allow me to show my love.
It breaks my heart to hear you say I'm numb.
I'm cold, cold as a rock, with a heart of stone!
Yet tears roll down my cheeks for you alone.
If this isn't caring, then I don't know how else to tell you.

You say that I won't care if you should go.
I'm crushed, crushed from within, you'll never know.
Now tears well from my eyes, I can't say "good bye!"
They're tears, sweet tears of love, I can't deny!

On stormy nights, you saw me through.
Your patient love, none can replace.
You bore your pains without a trace.

When I was young and feeling sick?

You saved me from it all!

The love you've shown, so pure and kind,
Will stay forever in my mind.
The tears I shed I cannot hide
Without you by my side!

All night we spent in dreams we hoped and prayed would never die.
But when the winter came, another heart shared in your dream;

Just a brief conversation,

Twilight Prayer
The sun bids 'goodbye' to a perfect day
And cradles behind the hills.
I drink up the splendor of each ray,
Tears of joy, my eyes it fills!
As in silence I stare,
My heart whispers a pray'r —
Hold this beauty for just one moment longer.
Let it ride on the evening breeze
For us to share,
And seal it in a kiss.
Let this magical paradise
Shine in your eyes.
O hear my twilight pray'r!
These Are the Hands
You took my hand, my love, and the world stood still.
I couldn't look at you, afraid I'd show the love I feel.
But you pressed my hand and held it warm and tenderly
'Till I felt a secret love within, from your hand to my hand.
So help me God as I off er these hands —
This pair of hands, these little hands of mine.
These are the hands, to help you build your plans,
You can reach out anytime, untiringly patient and kind.
And when you come home at the end of the day,
These loving hands will greet you to fade all your hardships away.
And, Honey, when you're feeling low, please don't go, just stay,
For, in my arms, you'd watch the setting of the day!
These are the hands, my love, clasped in silent pray'r —
The very hands of love to heal your wounds of deep despair.
And, Honey, now that we're young, it may sound funny,
But when we're old and gray, I'd ask you
To come and rest on these wrinkled hands,
For these are your hands.

Soul Mates in Love
Here we are face to face,
Two hearts beating as one —
One breath, one dream, one love forever!
Do you ever wonder how lovers find eternal love,
Perfect for each other, bound together?
In this world of many faces, one heart beats just for me.
And here, we're standing face to face!
Is it real? Can it be? You and me?
My heart cries out loud "Soul mates in love!"
Just one breath, one dream, one love forevermore.

Alone I can't heal all the hurt of the world.
Alone I can't feed every hungry child.

Look and see the man
Roaming down the street,
Robbed of even the simplest things
Everyone enjoys.
I peered into his eyes
And there lay a wounded heart,
Longing for a gentle touch
That would bring him back to life.
The night's cold and cruel
For many a hungry child,
Trembling in my arms
Waiting for your love.
I hold them close to me,
Cuddle them tenderly.
Come, feel their beating hearts
Crying out for you and me!

The world can be a happier place for everyone.
