1 word for this book ...... phenomenal
When I saw this ARC passing by, I was charmed by the cover and the title. I had not read a summary and entered the story blank. The first chapters gave me the idea that it would be a romance in which Celina had to make choices to preserve the love of her life as the title says; my soul to give.
Then her husband is killed before her eyes and she is hunted. I expected to read a thriller from that moment on. But again I was misled. Celina makes a deal with a demon; my soul to give .....
And then it becomes a romance again where you clearly find the confused emotions of Celina in the story. Just having lost your husband and then falling in love with another ...... not a person but the king over demons.
I enjoyed this book that always surprises you and it goes nowhere as you expect. I find the plot brilliantly conceived and described.
I enjoyed the way you describe the blossoming love between Mekaisto and Celina. As a reader, I felt Celina's struggle, but it fits perfectly into the story as it all develops.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book

Celina escapes from a break in where her husband is killed, and she is shot. Near death and full of anger she is visited by none other than a demon. Mekaisto promises her revenge and all she has to do is give him her soul and life. Once the deal is done, she begins investigating her husband and finds a trail of lies and secrets. On top of the horrible truth that is revealing itself about her husband, she also seems to find herself drawn to the demon that has her soul.
I'm not big on books like this, but I have to say I enjoyed it. From the beginning, this book is a roller coaster full of action and danger. Secrets and lies are revealed leading the reader on a journey like no other. I liked the characters. Mekaisto at first was a jerk in my opinion, but he soon won me over. As the truth comes out about Celina's husband, my opinion of him dropped significantly, but I guess with a story like this that is bound to happen. When the truth comes out, it is a significant shock. Celina was just awesome, beginning to end. The characters were colorful and passionate while the storyline was dark and mysterious. In my opinion, that's a great combination.
Honestly, I was surprised that I enjoyed this book as much as I did since it's not my usual type of read, but it was well written and kept me deeply enthralled. Even though I enjoyed this story, I have to say that I think I will stick to my usual reads. Demon romance is a bit too much for me.

My Soul to Give (A Demon’s Love Book 1) is a paranormal romance by author Magali A. Fréchette. After witnessing her husband Thomas’ brutal murder, Celina makes a pact with demon Mekaisto, affectionately known as Kai, to seek revenge on those responsible for Thomas’ death. She swears her body and soul to him and embarks on a mission to uncover the truth as to why Thomas was targeted. However, along the way, Celina begins to learn that Thomas was involved in more than he was telling her, including dealings with an ancient church trained in the killing of demons. With her ever-growing feelings of guilt over her lust after Kai, will Celina be able to put the pieces together or is her soul doomed to belong to Kai for all eternity?
I am not usually a fan of paranormal romance; however, I did immensely enjoy this novel, in particular the background story woven around the church of demon hunters. I almost wish there was more to that history, and I am hoping we will find out more about it in subsequent books. The interplay between Celina and Kai was built up nicely, and the glimpses of humanity from Kai made me like him as much as I hated him at certain points. Magali A. Fréchette has a good way with words, and I found no glaring errors or flaws in the execution of the manuscript, which is always a positive thing in my opinion. I was engaged enough to want to read more about Celina and Kai, and was also pleased this book did not end on a cliffhanger, as I had some concern it would, being a first novel in a series. The central story line was wrapped up very nicely, with teasers for more to come. My Soul to Give (A Demon’s Love Book 1) is certainly a must-read for paranormal romance lovers, and Fréchette is definitely an author I want to continue reading.
