About the Author

Shawn Kerivan was born in Quincy, Massachusetts and raised in Green Harbor, a small fishing village in the town of Marshfield, twenty-nine miles southeast of Boston. He studied journalism at the University of Maine at Orono, and received an MFA in creative writing from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont. He’s worked in the fishing industry, as a commercial painter, a carpenter, a ski instructor, and a freelance writer. For the past fourteen years he’s owned and operated a small inn in Stowe, Vermont, with his wife and two sons. He teaches writing at the Community College of Vermont.
