Loved it! Three words...Intriguing, hot and sexy. Okay, four words, but so good. Peyton and Boone make such a good couple. Off the charts steaming combination. When you add in the intrigue/murder/and the fact that both the hero and heroine do not want a relationship, well, what do you think happens? Yep. A relationship! :) I can't wait for the next book out, Wicked Sinner. This series will be a definite pre-order and buy immediately.

Stacey Kennedy is a new author to me and I was pleasantly surprised to read such a well-balanced book. It had likable main characters with interesting backstories and a varied cast of supporting characters, an interesting plot that did justice to both romance and mystery. I was engaged from the start and I am now looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Peyton and Boone were so easy to connect to. Peyton was trying to start over in a new town after losing her husband in a car accident a year before. She felt constantly reminded of her loss in Seattle and decided a move and new career were the fresh start she needed. She makes fast friends with Kinsley, who owns the bar next to her lingerie store. Kinsley also happens to be the sister of Boone, the handsome police detective she is instantly attracted to and trying to avoid. Boone has baggage of his own. He is divorced and there was a painful story tied to that which explains why he is resistant to pursuing serious relationships. He and Peyton agree to something casual because they can't resist their attraction. Of course, as the book progresses, so do their feelings. Woven through all of this romance is the fact that a murder occurred in Peyton's store and she feels like she's being watched. Boone's protective nature engages and it leads him and Peyton to spending even more time together. Even though, I was fairly confident that I had figured out the mystery portion of the book early on, I still enjoyed the way the book developed and thought it was a fun read. Also, I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I really liked the secondary characters and am glad they'll be getting their own stories. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher, Forever Yours, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was an awesomely entertaining romantic suspense story! I had so much fun reading it and was on the edge of my seat while everything played out. It's full of drama, emotion, and a whole lot of sexy. I loved Peyton and Boone meeting, they had great chemistry. I like learning about Peyton and everything she’d gone through. I liked her perseverance as she moved forward with her life. She had a great strength about her that I really enjoyed. I thought Boone was the sweetest man, thoughtful and caring, and oh so sexy! I liked their development, understood their conflict, and loved learning their histories. There were so many great moments as they open up. I could feel their attraction and loved their heat. I really liked meeting all the people in the town, Boone’s friends and I loved the friendships Peyton formed, and the new family she’s making for herself. There was a nice introduction to the next couple in the series that I'm curious about. I’m excited to see where it all will go. At 20%, the story really hit its stride for me and I was all in. The suspense element is great, though I feel it is definitely lighter romantic suspense. There's just enough info to keep you invested and to keep things moving along but it's not overly in depth. I settled in and was enjoying watching Peyton and Boone heal from their past and fall in love, all the while I was guessing what was what and just having fun reading it. This was entertaining for sure! It’s got drama and action, a nice amount of sexy and a whole lot of healing and love. I totally enjoyed it! Complimentary copy received for honest review.

Wonderful start to a new romantic suspense series I’ve been a fan of Stacey Kennedy’s for a number of years. Peyton and Boone’s story Naughty Stranger the first in her new Dangerous Love series is a great example why I became and remain a fan. Realistically crafted main and secondary characters, sizzling chemistry, wonderful friendships, sharp smart dialogue and interesting plot lines that took my emotions from heartbreak to happiness. I could not put down this book reading it in one sitting. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series Wicked Sinner. I received an advance reader copy via Netgalley.

What a great start to a new series, this one does not disappoint! Sparks fly between Peyton, newcomer to small town Stoney Creek and Boone Knight, our resident smoking hot detective! These two had incredible chemistry and that is why I love her books so much, she writes characters with both depth and the chemistry to start a 4 alarm fire. The plot was one of suspense and while it did pale a little, the scales tip heavy of the relationship between Peyton and Boone. Thumbs up to that. The story heats up as Boone appoints himself protector of Peyton after a dead body appears in her shop and that begins our little peek into how this rather grouchy man child who seems to resent his role, denies the pull, yet just can't help himself. Peyton I loved as well and loved Boone and Peyton together. All in all a great read and I greedily look forward to the next book in the series.

PEYTON is running from the tragic death of the love of her life. Boone is still effected by the betrayal of his ex-wife. Two young soles in Stoney Creek attract like magnets but refuse to acknowledge the attraction. When Detective Boone Knight must investigate a murder in Peyton's shop; they both will have to face the fact that the past never stays in the past. "A copy of this book was provided by Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion." Peyton Kerr started her life over in Stoney Creek, Maine after a sudden tragedy blew her world apart. She’s loving her small-town life and her easy flirtation with Boone Knight has given her reason to smile. Not wanting the complications of a relationship, Boone finally admits that he’d like to explore the sizzling attraction between him and Peyton when he volunteers to protect his newest and sexiest resident. But he has to convince Peyton to trust him with her past if he wants to keep alive as a merciless killer grows bolder with each passing day. This romance is explosively sexy and full of breath holding suspense that keeps readers on edge. The characters are bold and captivating with lots of magnetic attraction but what’s more this couple fit together in a way that makes readers smile knowingly. Lots of emotional turmoil and heart gripping emotions ensures that the readers can easily understand the characters’ motivations and desires. The plots is fast paced and a perfect combination of romance and suspense that keeps readers thoroughly engaged with the story as the suspense builds with some stunning twists and betrayals keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The story is set in a small town which adds intrigue to the atmosphere of the suspense and readers can’t help but relish this juicy combination of sexy, sweet and passionate romance and thrilling suspense.

This was a sexy romantic suspense! From the very start, you knew there was loss, but you also clearly felt the need to move forward, and not have the past hold you back. As the romance builds, so does the suspense. Each line moving along parallel to each other as they get closer and closer together. When it all finally comes crashing together, even then, the suspense holds, until the moment of reveal! And that epilogue, streaming tears of happiness!!!

Loved this one!! It was the perfect blend of a sexy romance and suspense. It's very well written with a nice easy flow, great characters, and an explosive storyline. City girl Peyton Kerr relocates to small town Maine seeking a fresh start away from the horrors of the city. When tragedy follows her Boone Knight comes into her life. He's the detective investigating the incident and he's worried Peyton is in danger so he vows to protect her. Neither Peyton or Boone are looking for a relationship but sometimes things just happen. Don't miss their story. I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed this romantic suspense story. This was a new-to-me author, and I'm highly anticipating the rest of this series! Peyton Kerr fled Seattle, and her nursing career, after losing her husband. She moved to a small town they both had loved on an amazing vacation together, Stoney Creek, Maine. She uses the insurance payout to buy her small house, and a small business on the square, a lingerie store. She worked at one while she was a nursing student, and always enjoyed herself. She wants to find happiness again after the last year spent in turmoil. On her first night in town, she meets a wonderful woman who becomes her best friend, Kinsley, as well as Kinsley's big brother, Boone. Boone Knight has been a detective in Stoney Creek for 2 years. He grew up in town, but spent 10 years as a cop in NYC, where he moved with his ex-wife after they were first married. When he returned to town, he was thrilled to reconnect with his 2 childhood best friends, and fellow detectives, Rhett and Asher, as well as his dad, and his sister. Boone had a very painful break from his ex, for some very interesting reasons. The night he first sees Peyton in his sister's bar, he's immediately attracted. She's tipsy, and lays a kiss on him unexpectedly, and he's all for it, but eventually cooler heads prevail. Then she spends the next month avoiding him. He's determined to get her attention, but when a dead woman is found in her shop, an opportunity presents itself for him to get closer to her, and protect her from harm. Boone and Peyton's connection was HOT and so strong from the first minute. I loved how drawn they were to each other, even though they both had huge and varied reasons for their reluctance to act on their attraction. Peyton was still fighting through the heartbreak of her husband's death, and Boone was no longer confident in his own instincts where women were concerned. He didn't think he could ever truly open his heart and trust one again. They both agreed to give in to the pull, but with the caveat that it was totally casual. No real dates. No falling in love. I really loved Boone's sister Kinsley. She was so sweet, fun, caring, and really came to be a best friend and sister to Peyton. She was ALL FOR Peyton and her brother dating, and she even tried to push them together faster than they were willing to go. She was a delight of a character and I can't wait for her story. She holds a long-lasting torch for Rhett, though she doesn't think he'll ever settle down. I guess we'll see about that! I also enjoyed Kinsley's best friend and employee, Remy. Boone's dad and Peyton's parents were sweet as well, and I loved getting to know all these awesome characters in this lovely small coastal town. I'm heading to Maine on vacation soon, for the first time, and I am so excited to find a cool town similar to this one! The suspense plot here was great, and scary at at times, and I enjoyed how it all played out. I was suspicious of the baddie from the start, but I wasn't totally sure why they would be doing it, and I waffled on whether I thought they did or didn't throughout the story. I think it was handled well, and I looked forward to every action-packed moment. I'm curious how much other bad stuff can happen to our protagonists in this quaint small town over the next two books, but I'm looking forward to seeing how the author lays it out. I highly recommend this awesome suspense story, and I can't wait for the next one!

I love a bit of romance and suspense in a small town setting; exactly what’s on the menu for the first in Stacey Kennedy’s Dangerous Love series, and bringing the sexy is Stoney Creek’s resident Detective, Boone Knight and the town’s newest resident, lingerie aficionado, Peyton Kerr. “I want you to lose your mind like I’ve been losing mine from wanting you.” This is a series I’m pretty sure I’m going to enjoy hugely with a likeable bunch of characters, strong personalities, lifelong friendships, histories, and in Boone and Peyton’s case, painful pasts that have led them both to where they are in life now. Yet their story isn’t heavy, is low on angst, high on romance and the suspense—although not entirely unpredictable—keeps you on your toes throughout. “There were always good times in the dark moments.” I loved Boone and Peyton together—there’s no games, their romance follows a natural path and they don’t scrimp on the steamy moments as they fall deeper whilst danger keeps rearing its head. And with a teaser chapter for Remy and Asher’s story included, I’m ready and waiting to see what Wicked Sinner brings later this year.

After a tragedy left life in Seattle unbearable for Peyton she decided it was time to leave, find somewhere that would bring a little happiness, instead of so much pain. So she packed her things and wound up in Stone Creek, it was the last place where she truly felt happy, and she's hoping she'll find it again. She buys her own shop, settles into her new home, and starts to find comfort in her new surroundings, everything is falling right into place. That is until someone is murdered in her store... now she is rattled all over again, and constantly looking over her shoulder. Which brings police detective Boone Knight to her doorstep offering his protection.... and maybe a little more! From the very first page Naughty Stranger will have you hooked, once I got started I just couldn't put it down. It's sultry and suspenseful story line and captivating characters drew me in and had me teetering helplessly from the edge of my seat. I loved everything about this one, the small town setting was warm and welcoming, the characters were perfectly crafted, and the words were divine... a perfect start to a new series! With a start like this one, I can hardly wait to see what the next installment holds for us. Highly recommend! I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. I loved the chemistry between Boone and Peyton as they struggle to figure out what they mean to each other. Along the way, they try to figure out why there are attempts on Peyton, and that the murdered woman looked very similar in appearance to Peyton. I loved all the hints to the next book with Remy dating Drake and the terrible heartbreak with Asher. The next book, looks like a good one, also! This book kept me reading as I wanted to know who was behind the attempts and how the guys were investigating. Pretty much non-stop action as Peyton either tries to stay alive or is helping others with her nurse's training. Loved that Boone and Peyton finally figured out that taking a second chance with love was worth it and especially when you find the right person!

Peyton Kerr suffered a horrible loss when her husband was killed in a car accident. It has been a year since his tragic death and she has made the move to Stoney Creek, Maine…the last vacation place where they were so happy. There she meets some wonderful new friends including Detective Boone Knight. The attraction between Peyton and Boone is immediate and hot, but neither one of them are ready for another relationship. She needs time to grieve and he is still recovering from his first wife’s betrayal and their divorce. When a body is found in Peyton’s new lingerie store, a body that resembles Peyton, was this a robbery gone bad or something more sinister? When Peyton is almost killed in an accident, Boone and the department believe that someone is targeting Peyton…but why? A wonderful first book in this new series about danger, love and new beginnings. I very much look forward to the next book in this series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Peyton Kerr has had a rough time of it lately. She decides to leave her home in Seattle, WA to start over in the last place she was happy, Stoney Creek, Maine. There Peyton is the new owner of the lingerie shop. Upon arrival Peyton heads to the bar next door to her shop for some food. There she meets Kinsley, the bar owner and they just click. Peyton also notices the hot guy at the bar but steers clear of him until he is suddenly next to her. When Peyton starts to feel nervous she heads to the bathroom. Imagine her surprise when she walks out the door right into the guys arms and ends up kissing him. Imagine Kinsley's surprise when she sees her new friend kissing her brother, Boone a local detective! LOL. Boone is instantly attracted to Peyton but has stayed away from her because of things from his past. When a dead body is found in Peyton's store, Boone and his partner show up at the store to investigate. When Boone is determined to protect Peyton from any harm, they decide to throw caution to the wind and get together. What they didn't expect was the level of sexual chemistry they had.....off the charts!!!! As Boone and Peyton spend more time together, their feelings keep growing stronger. While it is obvious that there are things from their pasts that neither of them divulged, they can't help but want to be together. When it appears that there may be someone actually trying to kill Peyton, Boone goes into full protective mode and realizes that he may want more out of this relationship than he originally thought. Between keeping Peyton safe, finding the killer and trying to get beyond their pasts, it will be a long and bumpy ride for these two until they can find their happy ending. I just loved Peyton and Boone. They both had such emotional pasts and it took a lot for each of them to get past it in order to be able to move forward into the future. Peyton is such a sweet, fun person and I can't even begin to image what she has been through. Boone is such a great alpha male with a big helping of emotions thrown in. Together these two could finally get beyond their pasts to finally find a happy ending. I also loved the mystery that revolved around their story. It really made it fun trying to figure out who the killer was. Overall a great start to a new series!

4 1/2 stars. This was such an awesome romantic suspense from Stacy Kennedy. I really enjoyed the wonderful use of balance between the sweet and sexy and the suspenseful and scary. I love Peyton and Boone as characters and as a couple. Both have been torn apart by their pasts and even though their situations are different, they are no less life changing. They meet when Peyton moves to the small town of Stony Creek where Boone is a police officer. Initially neither wants anything serious, but they become super close during the murder investigation surrounding Peyton's shop and soon they know they never want to be apart. Great story! I am really looking forward to Book 2 after that teaser!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. I just have to say I loved everything about this story, it is the perfect romantic suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what will happen next. Peyton Kerr is starting her life over in a new town, the last place she was truly happy. Moving to small-town Stoney Creek, Maine where she bought a small business and a lake house. She loves that no one knows about her past. It is perfect for starting over. Boone Knight is the sexy police detective that is drawn to Peyton and why not? She did kiss him before she even knew who he was. They have a chemistry that sizzles when they are in the same room. Neither Boone or Peyton are looking for a relationship, because of their past. But why can't they have a little fun together? When a body turns up in Peyton's shop, her quiet existence is suddenly gone. It seems someone is after her but her life back in Seattle looks perfectly clean on paper. Can Boone protector her from who is after her? Will Peyton give in to the feelings for Boone? Can Boone and Peyton figure out what is really gone on and why? Will there be a future for Boone and Peyton? As I said, I loved everything about this story, it is filled with romance, love, lust, suspense, new beginnings, and a HEA. I love Stacey Kennedy, she has a way of drawing you into a story and keeping you hanging on until the end. I highly recommend this story and love that it is the beginning of a series, so more romantic suspense to come. I can not wait. **Wicked Reads Review Team**

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review** I enjoy Stacey Kennedy's writing and when I found out she was writing a romantic suspense series, I was very excited. Peyton Kerr has just moved to Stoney Creek, Maine after enduring the most difficult year of her life to date. She was happily married and living in Seattle, however when her husband was tragically killed in a car accident, the last place she wanted to be was where everything reminded her of him. In order to start over, she chose to move to the last place they had visited together and been happy. She's recently opened a lingerie store and is settling into her new life. One of the things that has caught her attention in her new town is the sexy police detective who happens to be the brother of her friend, Kinsley. Peyton's hope was to live her new life in anonymity, but the universe had other ideas. Boone Knight has had his own share of problems over the past few years. After moving to New York with his wife, the marriage fell apart sending him back to his hometown where he has continued his law enforcement career as a detective. Working alongside his two best friends since childhood, he's sweet and sexy, but definitely isn't looking for a relationship. He's focused on his job and his Dad and sister and that's it. When a murder occurs in Peyton's new shop, Boone and his buddies are immediately on-scene to work the investigation. It's already clear that there is mad chemistry between Boone and Peyton and so to avoid any conflicts, he works the investigation from the sidelines. When the trail of evidence dries up, yet sinister things continue to occur, it becomes more important than ever for Boone to protect Peyton. Will they get to the bottom of the mystery before its too late? I enjoyed this story and I also really enjoyed the other players in the book. Boone's friends, his sister and her friend Remy were all so fantastic and I can't wait to see how things play out for them in the next books in the series!

Exciting murder mystery disguised as a small-town romance! After her husband's death, Peyton pulls up stakes and relocates across the country to the small town they had last vacationed in. What starts out as a simple task of settling into a new town and a new life quickly turns into a run for her life! Boone keeps his feelings locked up tight after his ex-wife's betrayal, but he's not above having a little fun with the new shop owner in town. Soon, though, this local police detective is drawn into figuring out the murder at her shop and the seemingly random accidents that nearly succeed in killing her. Nothing is as it seems, and the twist at the end was truly surprising. This story is about so much more than the crime drama, though. There's quite a lot of emotional depth as both Peyton and Boone are compelled to reveal all their buried secrets. The suspense was artfully paced alongside the romance, giving the reader a solid feel for the emotional roller coaster that the characters were experiencing. The triumphant HEA was terrific, and we get a nice peek into the conflict of the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This was a good second chance story for both our main characters. It isn't a second chance for them as a couple but more like a second chance in life. Peyton was happily married, living a normal life back in Seattle with her husband when tragedy strikes. A year after her husband was killed in a car accident, she goes back to the place where she was last happy, Stone Creek. Boone's a changed man. After moving back home after his wife betrayed him, he doesn't think marriage will ever be an option for him again. When Peyton moves to town, there's an undeniable attraction between them. First, I am so happy that this series is set in a small town in Maine. I always seem to enjoy books set in a small town in Maine and this has proved to be the same. I love when you get a several side characters that really add to the story. When a setting is in a small town, you get that. I loved all the side characters but I'm cautious about Rhett. You'll know why when you read this book. Secondly, despite Boone and Peyton starting out not wanting relationships, their story never felt casual. That's a good thing for me. I never like casual so I was happy to see these two were invested even if they didn't think they were. Boone drew me in right away. His physical description, the fact that he's a detective and very protective, and even the fact that he rides a motorcycle. Peyton wasn't really all that special but she was a nice person, got along with everyone and you do get a couple of fun girlfriends in Kinsley and Remy. I enjoyed Boone and Peyton's story and I'm looking forward to what's to come next.

Naughty Stranger by Stacey Kennedy Dangerous Love #1 Sometimes the perfect book comes my way just when I need it and today there could not have been a better book for me to read. I fell in love with the characters, supporting characters and town as they came together to welcome Peyton Kerr and then support and protect her when bad things began to happen. The dynamics between Peyton and Boone Knight sizzled and their chemistry was instantaneous and undeniable. They were perfect together and reading their story made me happy...in spite of all that happened to make it at times rather suspenseful. Peyton was someone I could see myself being once in my life. I have been an RN and young and in love. I have not experienced the heartbreak that Peyton did but can empathize. And Boone...talk about a heartthrob and perfect book boyfriend! I loved that they truly saw and got to know one another, shared and cared and all the rest. I enjoyed the mystery of who was out to kill people and how the police followed the clues. I loved meeting Asher and Rhett – Boone’s friends and colleagues on the police force. Kinsley and Remy were great girl friends for Peyton and always there for her. I think one thing that came through to me in this book is that we really should make the most of every moment we have because that is all any of us are sure of. Live and love and experience life even when it is dark because even in the dark there is usually a bit of light. Did I enjoy this book? Definitely! Would I like to read more in this series? I can’t wait! Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette-Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

Stacey Kennedy knew what she was doing when she titled this one Naughty Stranger! This story was full of sizzling chemistry, romance, lust, love, great secondary characters, secrets, and suspense that kept me glued to the pages. Peyton Kerr has left Seattle and moved to Stoney Creek, Maine because it was the last place that she was happy. Unable to continue to just survive, after losing her husband, she needed to breathe and live again. Using all the life insurance money she purchases a lingerie store “Uptown Girl” and a house on the lake. When she wanders into the bar by her store she meets the owner and has a few drinks. But what she didn’t count on was meeting Boone Knight and kissing him. Boone Knight is a hotter than hot, sexy, detective for the small town of Stoney Creek, who has been burned already by love. He isn’t into relationships , but when Peyton kisses the hell out of him, and then stays clear of him, he just can’t stop that kiss from constantly playing in his mind. All he wanted to do was recreate that kiss again. But when a murder occurs in Peyton’s store and he is assigned to the case, Peyton would just have to give up some of her secrets and some of the distance she had been creating between them. Because Boone was determined to keep her safe These two strangers unexpectedly come into each other’s lives and heat up each other to a lethal level of lust and needy rawness. Their affection for each other is intense, full of pure need and sweet affection. Leading them out the other side of their difficult pasts to a HEA. Captivating Romance at its best. This had my full attention and I cannot wait to see what happens next in Book two of this series, “Wicked Sinner”, Remy and Asher’s Story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are mine.
