Certainly not for everyone, I read this story in two sittings. The situations are gritty with moments of really good description spaced with some overly quick transitions. I would have liked more with the characters and description to give it a darker atmosphere, but it is still a wonderfully unique story. Fresh and new, fetshizing something that not even I have come into contact with often. I adored the story for going to places most people don't dare. Definitely worth it.

Whew! Man, there is so much to this great little book of fiction that I do not know where to begin. The protagonist is one helluva hunk of machismo named Jason Glenn Dawson, an American war profiteer in Vietnam during the war. His girlfriend and betrayer is Kim Anh Thi, an absolutely luscious Vietnamese-American TRANSSEXUAL (yes, you read that correctly!) who also happens to be an undercover CIA agent. Replete with all manner of plots, subplots, gratuitous sex, and violence, NIGHT OF THE DRAGON is author Angelo Victor Mercure's substantial testament to hardcore crime/mystery/espionage genre fiction. Not to be missed!

NIGHT OF THE DRAGON is one of my favorite reads of late. Jason Glenn Dawson (the protagonist) and Kim Anh Thi (his 'ladyboy lover') are two characters I can't easily forget. Author Angelo Mercure just racked up another five stars.

Going to the beach and just want to escape it all? No better a read will you find than NIGHT OF THE DRAGON, Mercure's cool, slender volume which will ring your bells quite nicely, thank you. Great plot and unique characterizations. Five stars? Hell, yes!

This book succeeds in going beyond the typical erotic novel. The merit is obviously of the author, whose dandy style combines glamour and decadence very well. It is also refreshing to finally see someone who writes fictional stories with transgender characters, until now relegated to the role of social (and clinical) case studies. Mercure is a skilled writer, and a blunt one!

Angelo Mercure succeeds in writing an excellent story in an established genre, but gives the characters a truly unique twist. The novel of intrigue moves effectively with a fast pace and plenty of plot turns. As for the characters' unique predilections, even if your tastes don¿t usually run in this direction, you'll find yourself quickly drawn into the hot action. Mercure's is an extreme makeover of an established genre with a heavy dose of gender-bending - and very hot - erotic action.

NIGHT OF THE DRAGON is a crime/mystery/spy genre thriller of the Mike Hammer/Tiger Mann school of hardboiled fiction, that is, if Mickey Spillane wrote while high on amphetamines! Angelo Victor Mercure serves us up a hot protagonist, a hotter plot, and a blazing inferno of an ending. This book will keep you awake for many nights afterward.

This stimulating story is masterly told and written with calm discriptive prose. The story is full of intrigue and suspense, set in a fabulous sensual enviornment that is amazingly stimulating. Mr.Mercures prose has the style and class of the likes of Edith Wharton. It is a true joy to read.

The writer has not only talent to drive us to new erotic dimensions, but an intimate knowledge about sexual love and desire. The story is fast paced and easy to read. There is definitely a dosis of suspense and some mistery unveils, and as you approach the last page, you might not know how the story is going to end, but you already know this book will be engraved in your memory for a lifetime.

I must tell you NIGHT OF THE DRAGON disturbed me, entertained me, scared me, drained me, but NEVER bored me. Great escapist lit. Angelo Victor Mercure is a WRITER EXTRAORDINAIRE.

I hear that Charles C. Kim - the noted Chinese-American screenwriter, based in Singapore - has penned the film script to NIGHT OF THE DRAGON. Angelo Victor Mercure wrote a great book and, if indeed, Kim adapted NIGHT OF THE DRAGON into a screenplay, then let's hope Hollywood does both of these fine artists justice.

This short novel really captured and kept my attention. Mercure's intricate, twisty, turning plot and well-drawn characterizations are very indicative of his formidable wordsmithing skills. A great read. And FIVE STARS all the way!

There is a whole lot of action, sex, drama, and thrills inside NIGHT OF THE DRAGON and the author - Angelo Victor Mercure - pulls it all off expertly. This novella centers around Jason Glenn Dawson (a Vietnam veteran turned war profiteer) and Kim Anh Thi (a beautiful transgendered Vietnamese-American CIA agent). Lots of plot twists and turns and a conclusion which will send shivers up your spine. Great read and apparently the screenplay has already been optioned!
